I also thought of the Saints. But they signed Carr for a ridiculous amount of money. Maybe some time in the future, but they have zero chance to pick up Dak next year with the cap and dead cap implications.

Daniel Jones don't have guaranteed money after 2024, but he will be a 22M dead cap. Me personally, I think the Giants might be drafting a QB in the first round.

You could be right about the Patriots. They might not like Drake Maye. A good strategy could be to get a haul for the 3rd overall pick, tank 2024, and be in position to get a top QB in the 2025 draft.

That year the Giants had 3 first round picks if I remember correctly. I was laughing when they took Jones at #6. They should have taken Allen at #6, Lawrence at 17, and jones later in the first. I think he would have been there. I'm happy they didn't do that.

NYG took Jones at No.6 - when they could have picked OLB Josh Allen who went to the Jaguars one pick later.
Giants did pick DT Dexter Lawrence at no. 17
Looking over the picks 18 to 29...Jones probably would have still been on the board for the Giants to select at no. 30.
They selected CB Deandre Baker there.

Gardner Minshew would be the "coolest" QB in Dallas since Meredith. 2 years $25M is a sweet team friendly contract. If Daddy Dak is "so good" it wouldn't take an enormous amount of creativity to swap QBs and see LV throw in multiple picks for the "MVP Runner-up".

Sure, it probably won't happen, but to suggest it's not possible is wrong. Kinda like the whole NTC. At some point #4 will realize "Dak is Done in Dallas". Vegas sounds like a nice spot to land to bet it all on black.

That's been my interpretation all along. No contract plus depopulating the team of talent, particularly the oline, is an invitation to request to be traded.

They should tell Dak they're planning on drafting a QB.

Like Kirk Cousins? Age 36 by the start of the season, coming off a torn Achilles, gets $100 million guaranteed. Jalen Hurts, 26 with a Super Bowl appearance has $129 million guaranteed. Dak Prescott, even if he gets badly injured, is going to sign for more than either of those guys with more guaranteed. No matter how much many Cowboys fans wish it, bad things are not going to happen to Dak Prescott. He’ll do just fine. He’s playing well, his representation has him in a good negotiating posture, he’s doing what a professional football player is supposed to do. His detractors are just going to have to reconcile with that.

It’s difficult to reconcile your team potentially overspending on a trigger man that will yield the same results while handcuffing an organization.

Those not in favor of Dak aren’t doing so from a personal perspective. Dak, make all the money you want, just please do so while being playoff irrelevant elsewhere.

Personally I prefer a little more money-ball approach. At this point i'd already be negotiating with Daks team, see what it is they are looking for in an extension and also tell them they can seek a trade so Daks agents are legally allowed to speak to other teams. I am not under any circumstances giving a non elite player of any position elite money. Elite to me is making plays in the playoffs and no one on this team deserves that kind of deal so I personally am more inclined to flip some of these players for more pics and other players who's talent exceeds their contract.

Alll three have been in charge of three distinct entities within the franchise that, because of the immense status, popularity, and profitability,l - it seems like they are running their own companies inside of the parent (sèe what I did there) conglomerate.
So being long involved in the growth of the franchise, the three could also work out how to administer their father's roles and responsibilities pertaining to the franchise (and other enterprises Jones Sr. is involved in), and continue on seamlessly.
