dont know why this is a topic...we have Dak and we have Rush....were set for the future at the qb postion for better or worse and its time to focus on developing the two of them. I am all for bringing in a UDFA qb to be the number 3 but 1 and 2 are set

Use those 5/6/7 picks you would potentially trade to get better from 53 up....thats always been a problem with this team, good at the top, poor at the bottom. You have to have quality throughout the roster to be competitive and to absorb injuries and IF this team is going to be commited to growing through the draft, as the strategy indicates, then we need to hold on to picks like Charlie and his golden ticket....
no not another young guy we need an emergency 3rd VET bring in a guy they can fall back on when needed and for dak and rush to learn from in practice..maybe sanchez or better..some who really wont be threat pushing to get in as a starter..

I got eyes bro......they don't lie.

It's simple.really.

Ah, so your evaluation of a prospect is guaranteed 100% accurate - you've never been wrong about a player in your life. Damn, that's an asset an NFL team would pay big bucks for. What are you doing working at 7-11?

If I thought there was a QB coach here that could develop him, sure, but I dont so..............

It doesn't appear either the QB coach Denver, or Gary Kubiak, who was a top tier QB coach before moving up the ranks, was able to develop him either, so maybe there isn't as much to develop as originally thought.

If Dak stinks up the joint next year which is highly likely, he won't be firmly planted at starting anything but a backup on some other team. Dak is not an NFL QB because he can't read defenses and he can't throw worth a flip. Without Zeke, he's toast.
That's a fair assessment. I'm gonna give him another season and pray that he turns it around. Those throws were terrible. Too high, too low, too slow. Leading receivers into defenders.

All I can do is pray that he fixes his mechanics this offseason. Go cowboys!

I still have faith in Dak the player. But he's at a crossroads. He needs to show in 2018 that he is, in fact, the player we thought he was in 2016.

Unfortunately, I do not have the faith that any of the coaches involved in the process can adequately help him to achieve that. In fact, I consider all of them part of the problem and not the solution. And anointing a guy who is nothing more than a Linehan vanity project to jump right into a coaching position is yet more evidence of that.

Of course you have to give him time. Im not saying cut Dak at all but I think they need to get the right QB coach in here to work with Dak. Its possible he could be the franchise QB but what might prevent that would be the coaching. This coaching staff struggles with coaching up players maybe they need more talent at the position. Kinda like Romos gunslinger ways were a good compliment to Garretts inability to adjust. To me I hope Dak works out but Im also kinda tired of the smaller QBs around 6'1. I would love to see Dallas get a typical 6-5 big arm pocket passer like Philip Rivers. OR Wentz was there had Jerry just moved up to secure him. Jason had coached him and should of known his potential. But thats water over the dam!
Exactly with our silly offense we need a good gunslinger pocket qb that can hit it medium to deep

Gunslinger QB, and run based offense aren't really a fit. What we need is a QB who can compliment the running game, not take risks that undermine it. You mentioned Romo, and likely his best season was 2014 where his gunslinging tendencies were curtailed to a large degree in favor of working in harmony with the running game. As a result, his yardage total was among the lowest of his career, but his QB rating, TD/Int ratio, completion % and overall effectiveness were above or near the best of his career.
