I'll trade him and the rest of the team for a healthy Troy Aikman at around 23 years old coming out of the draft.

Here's who I'd take over Romo: (not in order)

Kap, Wilson, Dalton, Luck.

Because of their age, I would not take Brees, Rodgers, either Manning, Brady, etc. I want a young up and comer ... no one from the over the hill gang.

Interesting topic despite all the people trolling (as usual) I'm not sure if is trade romo for any of them but I wouldn't mind seeing Josh McCown start for us for a year. Granted small sample size but at least there is a possibility of something being there

Who is going to trade for QB who is 34 with two back surgeries in less than year? Most teams want to go younger at that position who have upside.

Wilson is an avg QB at best. He threw for 300 yrds twice this yr. 3 games with 3 tds or more. 6 games with fewer than 25 attempts. 9 games with 15 completions or less. 9 games lower than 60 QBR. and 5 games with a QBR lower then 26.5...WHAT?!?!?!

If you factor in age, I'd take: Rothlisberger, Ryan, RGIII, Tannehill, Stafford, Flacco
If you just consider next season, I'd take: Rothlisberger, Ryan, and probably Flacco.

Tough question. Cousins intrigues me, but I'd have to do a ton of homework. Matt Ryan is younger, not sure if better. Stafford is a player type I think Garrett would like in his system, but he isn't as cerebral as Romo and that's a problem. The rest are expensive or have question marks all over them.

Thats not fair to Romo, Romos youth has been wasted by bad management decisions. A good qb who has done everything asked of him and more and than people wait til hes older and hurt than ask fans to see if they would trade for a younger Qb. Some who havent even accomplished what Romo has and two who has been complimented by wonder defenses. My have we sunk.

If we're talking fair, history has shown that ROmo has had an equal hand in hindering himself. Yes, he is a very good player, but the fact that he is prone to choking is well noted. I think the management decisions had very little to do with his squandered youth (still laughing at how that sounds)...his play and the play of those around him have contributed the largest.

Taking Romo's back into consideration and the fact he'll be 34 at the start of next season I would trade him for Matt Stafford who's 8 years younger and still hasn't reached his full potential. With Romo undergoing 2 back surgeries in a span of 7 months and approaching his mid 30's his best years are behind him. Although I still think Romo is the better QB Stafford has shown some great potential as he did against the Cowboys when that game was on the line he just needs a QB coach. A few adjustments and he could take off. Stafford has a lot more years left than Romo and hasn't reached his ceiling yet so that's a trade I would have to make.

Any of the QBs on the teams that did not make the playoffs this year?

Giants - Eli
Steelers - Big Ben
Ravens - Flacco
Vikings - Christian Ponder/Matt Cassell
Jets - Geno Smith/Mark Sanchez
Bills - EJ Manuel
Raiders - Terrell Pryor/Matt McGloin,
Rams - Sam Bradford
Cardinals - Carson Palmer
Bears - Jay Cutler/Josh McCown
Falcons - Matt Ryan
Bucs - Mike Glennon
Jaguars - Chad Henne
Texans - Case Keenum/Matt Schaub
Titans - Ryan Fitzpatrick/Jake Locker
Browns - Brandon Weeden/Brian Hoyer
Skins - Kirk Cousins/RGIII
Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill
Lions - Stafford

Some of these are an obvious no, but who knows...maybe someone out there has a reason that they would rather have someone over Romo considering youth, cap space, etc.

Matt Ryan has shown nothing to me that would make me think he could take this team any further than Romo. Same amount of playoff wins...with a plethora of offensive talent surrounding him.

Personally, I don't think Eli or Big Ben would be a significant improvement, although I'd take Big Ben over Eli if I had to make the choice. Bradford and Stafford's potential seem tempting, but their salaries are just as big as Romo albeit for not as long.

Kirk Cousins hasn't shown enough and RGIII is always one run away from a season ending injury.

Flacco and Cutler's contracts immediately make me say no, although Flacco's post-season record is quite impressive. Despite that, his contract would tie up way too much cap space.

For me, out of all those guys listed; I'd take either EJ Manuel or Geno Smith and here's why: It's a situation where you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Both showed flashes of good play this year and both are young. EJ is much more or a checkdown guy as where Geno would just heave it in the air hoping for the best. If they pan out, then great! If not, and the Cowboys aren't financially obligated to stay with either one seeing as their contracts are pretty light.

Or, you could just grab Brandon Weeden and tank the season in hopes for Winston or Mariotta in next year's draft.

Just food for thought.

EJ Manuel...

Assuming Romo recovers fine from his back issue, then almost none of those.
But I would consider it for maybe Ryan or Stafford.

Steelers - Big Ben - See how average he is now that he doesn't have a top 5 defense?
Ravens - Flacco - Ditto.
Bills - EJ Manuel - Not sure if serious.
Rams - Sam Bradford - Pretty average for a 1st overall pick.
Falcons - Matt Ryan - Maybe.
Bucs - Mike Glennon - You're high.
Titans - Jake Locker - You're obviously messing with us now.
Skins - Kirk Cousins/RGIII - Possibly RG3.
Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill - No.
Lions - Stafford - Yeah.

Outside of Luck or Rogers, nobody, if we're factoring age into this.

Given the age and skill sets of Stafford, I think I'd go with him even if Romo's back was good going forward.

The rest of that list is a "no" for me with possible exception of Ryan.
