I think they book Bray to lose because, at least to me, his character isn't concerned with winning and losing just the mind games he plays with his opponents. His recent program with Cena was about trying to get him to embrace the dark side so to speak.

He's far from the jobber that a guy like Zach Ryder is. Ryders job anymore, notwithstanding his recent win over the movie ticket guy, is to make his opponent look good. He may get some offense in, maybe look like he could win before being defeated.

I have a feeling I'll be waiting a long time for Bray to win any belt. Which just seems wrong. At least let his guys win the tag belts instead of fighting those guys 10 times and only beating them when it doesn't matter.

Like that Ziggler guy. I watch & he's very good. He's there week after week kicking it & has crowd support & they give the belt to that guy Miz. Who just came back right?

I just cannot figure out their thinking. It's strange how they work.

Ok I only watch PPV and the Raw after PPV so I don't really follow the product every week. Anyways, my theory on Bray losing the match is that his feuds don't end after one ppv with the exception of Kane in his debut and Bray won. IMO, this could mean that Bray will fight Jericho again and Bray will win the next PPV which is one of the four PPV events of the year. With Jericho going on leave again, I can see Bray finishing the feud with another victory.

Bray is not going to win a belt until his other members become stars themselves and win belts. Factions are made for all members to be stars like 4 Horsemen, Nexus, Shield, NWO, DX, Legacy, Evolution etc. All these factions had a leader and the leader didn't get a belt until their members won or about to win a belt. If Bray won a belt and his other members kept losing, it makes the group as a whole look weak..

Ziggler is good but I think creative don't trust him staying healthy with history of injuries and concussions. Also, he bad mouthed certain wrestlers that WWE liked and he was (and possibly still is) in the doghouse.

So they "punish" guys by making them lose? I guess that guy that comes out every week as a character must have really pissed them off. I think his name is Sandow.

You have to have a very thick skin to be a pro wrestler. In more ways than one.

I'll stay hitched to the Bray wagon. He's just one of my favorites only because he's different. And it's kind of fun seeing a chubby guy be so athletic.

I don't remember where I read it recently but it was something like this - if you are concerned about your win/loss record in pro wrestling you are in the wrong business.

Well, thick skin probably helps. If creative doesn't have something for you or are booking you in a way that you don't think helps the product it would come in handy. You just have to keep your head up, put on the best show you can every night and hope something changes I guess.

They like to say that, but the 'Babe Ruth of pro wrestling' is Hulk Hogan and nobody cared more about not losing than Hogan. And while it was often 'bad for business', it really solidified Hogan as a star because the fans knew he almost never lost.

To his credit, when you're the champion you do have to exercise creative control over your character. Too many writers will screw things up and not do what is best for your character and title run. Daniel Bryan should have exercised some creative control as well instead of being involved in a lot of the nonsensical writing when he became champ. CM Punk wasn't afraid to do that and that's why his title run went extremely well.

Yes & it is such a money driven business that guys are promoted to the best matches based on their ability to make money.

I get all that definitely but it must be hard for the guys working their butts off night after night who seem to never get much of a chance.

That's what I meant by thick skin. Not to mention it doesn't seem to be good for your long term health.

I am going to goggle Punk. From what you guys say he seems like he was fun to watch & a cool guy too. Or maybe I will google him. I just noticed my spelling error. Too funny to delete.

Oh, I'd agree with that. Hogan has an immeasurable ego IMO.

When you are at the top I'm sure you have more say. I was thinking about those low card guys like Ryder who mainly get airtime on shows like Superstars.

Yep, I read that also from a former talent. He said that except for the big PPVs, they really don't care a whit whether or not they are scripted to win, lose, draw, or whatever. He said it only mattered to the "smarks", not the actual talent.

That entire pipe bomb segment might be the single greatest part of Raw in the last 10 years or more.

A close second might be the brilliance of Creative in the Paul Heyman pipe bomb just four months ago. RAW was in Punk's home town, and the smarks were trying to pre-arrange a "RAW takeover" or whatever...you can hear them chanting CM PUNK! at the beginning of the show...then Punk's music hits...and...WWE took the takeover attempt and turned it on its ear. Just brilliant.

Ryder made a critical mistake...he got over on his own.

It got him a job in the end, but soon enough the WWE will release him and he'll have no leverage because he's just another wrestler the WWE made into a jobber.

Too bad Punk left. That segment was a breath of fresh air & I missed all that.

He really is a punk. In a good way.

I cannot stomach that fat ***. Mute time when he is on. To me he is not funny & certainly not entertaining.

What is the wrestling definition of a pipe bomb? If it is what I think it is then Punk said all that without them knowing?

It was great to me btw.

By the way, during the PPV this past weekend, during a crowd shot, I saw a sign saying "BEADLE MANIA" I think it was...I cracked up. That was awesome :D

I'll chime in my 2 cents on this: I believe it is when someone is "dropping some knowledge", saying truths, and going off-script, even a little bit. Even Punk's epic pipe bomb - I'm pretty sure he got general approval from "Creative" (and probably Vince himself in this case) for the overall content if not the exact specifics of the promo he wanted to cut, with approval to go off-script a bit if he so chose to do so.

He was great there. I liked that. However it came to be he made it seem totally off the cuff.

This is a good take. Really makes me wonder if the plan was for his mic to suddenly go quiet or not.

Spike TV has let TNA officials know that they will not be renewing their TV contract in October. No word yet on when Impact will stop airing.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the deal told TMZ that Spike TV executives contacted Dixie Carter this week to break the news. Dixie told members of her inner circle the following day.
