Spike TV has let TNA officials know that they will not be renewing their TV contract in October. No word yet on when Impact will stop airing.

Some network should pick them up but I guess you never know. Pretty favorable viewer demographics IMO.

Before launching WWE Network I would have bet on Vince probably making some kind of play but not now.

TNA is a joke. They are drawing horrible ratings. If SpikeTV doesn't want to renew the contract, that's basically all you need to know about how terrible the ratings are.

And McMahon doesn't even acknowledge TNA's existence.

TNA has a talented roster, but Dixie Carter is clueless when it comes to the wrestling business. Good wrestling minds like Dutch Mantel, Al Snow, Jim Cornette and Gabe Sapolsky get snubbed over clowns like John Gaburick, Vince Russo and Christy Hemme.

LOL!

Oh that's hilarious.

TNA...the crew that was supposedly going to be a real threat to the WWE, in fact we had a poster right on these forums just a few years ago championing the fact that TNA was so much better and would hurt WWE, and now they're a few months away from once again being off of TV and on their way to closed down.

This is what happens when you're run by people who only want to rehash WCW storylines or copy storylines from the WWE within months of WWE doing them.

Competition is good. If this TNA survives & can somehow improve their product that would be good.

I like the WWE as a new viewer but I think even their most ardent supporter has to admit they are laughably bad sometime.

Sometimes? A lot of times to me. They just do some really stupid things. The shame is they are the only game in town so it's them or nothing.

Yea. Some of it is very dumb. I'm starting to ff over some of it. I don't watch the girls at all & while I know he's great stuff to some of you on here I cannot watch that Heymann guy.

I am hoping that Sting guy comes on like you guys have talked about & I really want to see Punk too even though that may never happen.

I don't care about Brock in any way.

What?

But...but...but.....

All ya gotta do.......

is....

BO-LIEVE!!!!!

:D

Oh dear Lord. He's about to be FF material soon. I hear boos now when he's on & I think it's because his gimmick or whatever they call it is lame.

Why didn't they team him with Bray? They are brothers. It would seem a natural thing to me like those Rhodes guys & the Usos.

Vince McMahon is *not* a good wrestling mind. He's easily had more colossal blunders than successes.

There are 2 things that separate him from other promoters though:

1. He has always leaned heavily towards having a babyface world champion. This dates back to what he learned from his father who put the strap on both Bruno and then Backlund for extensive periods of time. As Vince likes to say 'you want the fans going home happy.' Most other promotions favored putting the strap on the heel. Those that favored putting the strap on a face (i.e. Memphis with Lawler and AWA with Verne Gagne) did great business. Perhaps the closest thing to the wrestling business is action movies and people don't go to Diehard to see John McClain lose.

2. He's the best *promoter* and marketer of the wrestling business. It's not even remotely close. Forget about how he expanded his business well before anybody else...McMahon is able to promote and market his product so his idiotic ideas are treated by the fans as:

a. finally accepted as a good idea

or

b. quickly forgotten about and swept under the rug

or

c. looked at down the road with laughter and just a 'funny part of pro wrestling.'

Other promotions that would come up with 1/2 of Vince's dumb ideas would see it destroy their business. They just don't have the marketing and promotion of their product to turn a bad idea and get it over or to not have the fans resent them for it.

In WCW, the fans started to treat Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit as 'vanilla midgets.' In the WWE, their lack of size became rarely questioned and they turned into superstars.

I would be happy if Vince McMahon would take his daughter off their tv programming.

I have yet to see him as long as I've been watching.

I don't mind HHH because he was a wrestler.

I realize she is acting but goodness that ***** act is like nails on a chalkboard. Enough already!

So Brock Lesnar won't be on Raw tonight but Cena will. Then next week Cena will be off again filming his new movie. Talk about the worst build up to a championship match at SS ever!

I'd rather watch Cena go to the ring and pretend to wrestle the invisible man at SS than see another Cena vs Lesnar match.

What is wrong with Brock's face? It's more than just being ugly. He looks like he's a sick guy.

Ok guys. If TNA goes belly up who are some of the guys you'd like to see in the WWE?

I am a wrestling trainee just like Jason is a football trainee.

I have my mute on now re RAW. they started with Cena/Heymann. Ugh.

I'll check him out because off the top of my head I don't know who he is from briefly watching them.

It's a 2 edged sword if they go out of business. Lots of talent will suddenly become available but the WWE is trying to save money because they've lost so much.
