I think the "dumbest" one of the top five guys taken was Ryan Switzer, and he's far from dumb. All five are very cerebral guys.

I'm a huge believer in this. Of course, they have to be great athletes, but guys that can think make a lot fewer bad plays.

Jaylon Smith is another smart guy to add, too.

A great example is Church and Wilcox. Wilcox is a far better athlete than Church, but Church is a smart dude and did the right things. Wilcox played like a mental midget far too often, and he hurt the team with silly mistakes in coverage constantly that his athleticism couldn't cover up.

Great point. Nothing more frustrating than watching a stupid team make poor decisions lol.

I'm sorry, but you obviously do not understand statistics. A 39 is in the 98th percentile of all test takers.

lol. Did you read what I said? Clearly I know what a bell curve is, do you have a reading comprehension problem? Or did you just read that someone else and post it as if you knew what you were talking about?

Choosing La tech over Stanford can't be smart.

I like the guy and we're lucky to get him. He has a chance to play a lot.

That is an old way of thinking. It really doesn't matter anymore

whether[/I] you go to college retains some importance in your employment options. But where you go to college is of almost no importance. Whether your degree, for example, is from UCLA or from less prestigious Sonoma State matters far less than your academic performance and the skills you can show employers.

No coincidence: Recent Cowboys draft picks and the Wonderlic.

Xavier Woods: 39
Chidobe Awuzie: 35
Byron Jones: 33
Ezekiel Elliott: 32
Darius Jackson: 32
Charles Tapper: 31
Randy Gregory (I know, I know): 28
Dak Prescott: 25
Maliek Collins: 24
Taco Charlton: 22

We are absolutely making intelligence a big part of our drafting decisions.

Mental midget is a tough description for a guy who played receiver for most of college yet is on his second NFL contract as a safety. How many guys are successful at a position change, let alone from offense to defense?

Probability distribution. (ie, the bell curve) You know, where he actually got (or at least Google'ed) the 98th percentile number.

Here is one based on the IQ test rather than the Wonderlic.

I don't know why but he may be my favorite pick out of this draft!

His INT was nice and all, in that he laid out to dive, but in all honesty it was an awful throw by Rodgers and he was late. The CB was burnt really bad and that should have been an easy TD.

I believe the replay shown from behind Rodgers was right after this clip. If my memory serves Heath baited him into the throw. Rodgers might have short-armed it when he saw Heath book it over at the last second. It was a baller play.

Whenever you say it's around 80% (Presumably by dividing 39 by 50) it shows someone who does not know what they are talking about. Furthermore, 98th percentile is not "towards the upper end" of the bell curve, its pretty much an outlier value.

Folks (and their grannies) who know Xavier well mention how smart he is. Could so many (and their grannies) be wrong? Maybe not. ;)

1 yard of separation is not burnt real bad and Heath had more than enough range to be there to help had the pass been on target. As it was he beat the receiver to the spot tracking the ball in the air.

You're acting like it was a tipped ball that dropped in his lap when Heath went to get the ball and made a nice grab.

Why does Heath get all the blame for the Johnson game when it was predominantly the big money corner that left town that got toasted? Heath was a developmental player in some of his first action.
