Gonna be some tough cuts.

Carroll, Scandrick, Brown, Jones, and Heath are locks. Awuzie and Lewis will make it too. That leaves about 3 or 4 spots open. Frazier and Woods really showed something tonight. Blanton is a vet. It'll come down to special teams.
It will be 10 DBs. I think it will be 6 corners and 4 safeties.

Frazier forced a fumble as well. Blanton is bland.

If I recall correctly, we signed Blanton right before the draft, however with us drafting 4 DBs, the odds are against him making the roster. His best chance is on special teams, but I think Frazier is out performing him there and both Woods and Frazier seem to be better in the base defense.

Blantons can be found any week of the year. He's like a Sterling Moore. Can start in a pinch and won't embarrass you but seemingly always either on a 1 year deal or a FA looking for work.

Well based on what we had last season......that would probably be a upgrade.

And what has he done the fist two preseason game against backups?

A better question would be what has he done his whole career aside from the Packers game last year? That game really bought him some time with fans it seems.....its like he's reintroduced himself as fans and has wiped away the player he truly is.

If he was so great he would've been on the field more.

I like Heath but I don't know if he fits with Byron Jones as the other starting safety. I see Heath as being the center fielder safety that Jones plays, not the rangy all-around playmaker that the SS position would need...which I see Woods being. Byron = late-career Darren Woodson at safety, now we need a SS who can be the Roy Williams and make plays all over the field

Woods will be a starter in due time, he is a play maker and will make an impact.

Once he develops further and the game slows down, he is going to be a beast back there!

I was high on him prior to the draft, kid has all the tools, he just needs the reps and opportunities!
