His number showed up frequently, especially on 3rd down. Guy has a knack for the football and has some nastiness to his game. Big hitter and sure tackler. The game looks like its slowing down for him. X is a player
I thought #56 Lenny Jones showed some flashes last night

Which depth chart is being referred to? The official one on dc.com- lists Blanton ahead of Frazier.

I would prefer it the other way, but that's the way its listed.

Graded well:

P1701-WOODS-GAMEBALL.png

S Xavier Woods, 89.9 overall grade
Woods made plays all over the field, getting in on eight tackles, including a game-high six stops. Whether in the open field, against the run, or in coverage, Woods flew to the football and finished plays when he got there. The sixth-round pick is looking for a role in the Dallas secondary and he stated a strong case tonight as he played 31 snaps at free safety, 14 in the box, and nine over the slot.

Watching the game again, that hit at the end of the 3rd quarter was gross. It would be great to have an athletic enforcer back there... We'll see how he finishes out the pre-season.

Frazier had a few nice hits as well. We have some young fire in this defensive backfield now. I feel alot more confident about this secondary going forward. Heath may have to watch his back for his starting gig. Also the defense as a whole was super aggressive and hitting! Really emphasizing turnovers.
warker97--- I am hearing you...Heath better watch his back...give our new secondary a few games to get their feet under them and they may be the strong point of team?

A better question would be what has he done his whole career aside from the Packers game last year? That game really bought him some time with fans it seems.....its like he's reintroduced himself as fans and has wiped away the player he truly is.

Hes been a 3rd string backup behind the hapless JJ Wilcox. LOL

What a stellar resume. And he is sooo important they have him starting in the first two preseason games.

Gonna be some tough cuts.

Carroll, Scandrick, Brown, Jones, and Heath are locks. Awuzie and Lewis will make it too. That leaves about 3 or 4 spots open. Frazier and Woods really showed something tonight. Blanton is a vet. It'll come down to special teams.

Or salary cap number/hit.

Heath out and Woods in. Count me in for that. Heath can go back to being a special teams ace.

Yeah i'm not opposed to him being a special teams ace. He may be stellar in that role. If we are going to have youth out there might as well continue to go with youth or the best player regardless of youth.
