That sucks, it was very entertaining.
Definitely would have had another season.
I wouldnt call it secrecy what the NFL does, its just that the new XFL (and also the AAF) televised the ref in booth live. Frankly I didnt like it, to me it did the opposite of what I feel was intended as I saw more things I disagreed with. What caught my attention was the transparency of the officials and their calls in real time.
After a lifetime of secrecy with ref calls..
this was brilliant.
The only better thing would be if the viewer at home could do a poll in real time about whether they agreed with the call or not.
Add interactive features like that and football would be off the charts popular.
I do not think it would even be hard to do with technology today.
They did but numbers were still solid. That has nothing to do with what I said anyways. I loved the product. The leagues ratings were falling before the current situation arose that stopped play. The first couple of weeks the ratings were respectable and began to decline week after week.
that would be neilsen ratings, which are all estimated. But they rule even though their ratings are pure fantasy and estimates. The leagues ratings were falling before the current situation arose that stopped play. The first couple of weeks the ratings were respectable and began to decline week after week.

Yet I can see a pretty girl in a short skirt from 500 yards.
