XFL Sunday games thread

Was a good idea to keep everything friendly with the NFL. The first time they kind of tried to be the anti-christ to the NFL. Now, players can go to NFL teams if offered contracts etc...

So the NFL will probably see it more as a developmental league. Especially since they even report the games on NFL.com...

Guess McMahon put up $500mil to make sure it makes it 3 seasons... This may actually work out this time. Sounds like the crowd enjoys it...

Can any one tell me when the USFL started their season back in the day? Was it around this time to?

Didn’t know that. That is cool.

I have to say so far I am surprised that some of these rule changes seem kind of interesting. I think I enjoy the kick off and point after changes, as well as the shorter play clock.

Yeah..

Lookup when Hershel Walker began his career in Dallas then subtract about 3 years putting you where the USFL began play..

..or look up when he played for Trump as the owner of the New Jersey Generals.

That should give you a hint.

And Wikipedia should have it.

I know it probably won’t happen, but would it be interesting if Andrew Luck came out of retirement to play in his dad’s league? It has a shorter season and all that.

You have seen their salaries?

They pretty much all get paid the same... it comes out to about $55k for a 10 game season...

Luck is already rich...

Not much incentive if you're a multimillionaire.

On a side note... I make about 6x what these guys make, working from my house... But, I would give it up for that $55k a year lol. That would be so much more fun!

I can't imagine this game is going to bode well for the attendance of Tampa's first home game.

The winning team in each game also gets an extra $100,000, so about a $2,000/man victory bonus.
