Agree. If I were a future free agent, I would have my agent take Dallas off of the list after seeing this.

Regardless of a player’s production or talent, you treat your employees with respect and dignity. They knew they were going to cut him and they didn’t do that, and the “leverage over Hurns” excuse is complete bull****. Hurns has the internet and TV just like we do, and NFL coverage was absolutely saturated with the media’s obsession about a Dez pay cut or waiver.

The NFL is where one should be paid for production...and for three seasons, Dez Bryant wasn't top shelf, period. I wouldn't pay for a General that took us to battle multiple times...and just didn't win.

Talk about the hillbilly stuff where it fits...but with $12 million doing the real talking, he had better pull a childish ego out of harms way.

Who cares? He wasn't doing his job at the level that elite WRs produce. They wanted to make sure they didn't screw the pooch like 2015 when Romo got injured and the backups were hot garbage. Watkins didn't pan out and they grabbed others. Some act like it was out of spite. Get over it, if he at least had the maturity to not make situations worse, maybe the staff keeps him here. I'm not sure why people are STILL defending him. He blasted the fans, threw teammates and coaches under the bus and now has nobody to blame but himself for being unemployed.

This is a logical fallacy. Just because the Cowboys have paid him a lot of money in the past does not change that they likely hindered his earning potential in the immediate future.

It's not a matter of "feeling sorry." That's a cop out.

Dez would have made gobs of money without the Cowboys as well.
Weird he didn't get signed right away. At some point, even the most homerific Dezzie needs to hold Dez accountable for the outcome. Not everyone else BUT him.

I mean, this literally ignores the facts of what have happened, and the point of this entire thread and the article it is based on. Are you even trying?

Yahoo sports is garbage. So are writers who hold every word Jones says as gospel. When are fans going to realize this? There are reasons they waited but it doesn't line up with the Dezzies.
" it seems there was no reason to wait until April 13 to cut him — it’s fair to assume Bryant would have a job right now." - Not facts, assumptions.

There are possible reasons that don't really hold much water. And it is not an assumption that FA is a seller's (player's) market immediately after FA opens. You are ignoring reality.

We're not in possession of all of the facts in regard to the staff. Even though you think you know everything, there are reasonable reasons to do what they do.
I hope someday you can move on from Dez.

The staff? You are just throwing crap against the wall. Please list these reasonable reasons.

I have moved on, why haven't you? Your pathetic "Dezzies" comments and other ad-hominem attacks in lieu of actually making a counter point to an argument are not impressive or compelling.

Hate to belabor Dez stuff but since this was a stance some took here, I thought I’d at least report the article for board consumption

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jerry-...boys-late-release-hurt-chances-150622751.html

But the Cowboys waited more than a month into free agency to cut him. Why? We really don’t know. The Cowboys have talked around that, but again, if they weren’t going to keep Bryant on a pay cut, there was no real reason to wait other than indecision. By April 13, the bulk of NFL free agency is done. Cutting Bryant late wasn’t a help to the Cowboys, who couldn’t use the cap savings on any top-shelf free agents, and it sure didn’t help Bryant.
The only logical answer is the Cowboys didn’t want Dez to be a high profile FA signing going to a divisional rival or conference contender and or making them look bad if he signed quickly.

I think it’s why Dez is holding out for a better offer than the Ravens. He wants to play the Cowboys and make us pay.

But if Dez contract was enabling a trade especially if teams knew we were going to release him we did Dez no favors while not loosening up the Cap space in time to pursue a higher profile FA acquisition.

Nothing else makes sense unless we had hope Dez would renogiate his contract which didn’t appear to ever be a possibility. Every indication is we intended to release him in a Cap move.

DEZ PUT DEZ IN A BAD SITCH, PERIOD...END OF STORY. Had he signed with bmore..we wouldn't be talkin about him. THIS is all on Dez. The yahoo story is complete nonsense and based solely on 1 writers personal opinion. NOT 1 FACT. FAKE NEWS.

let's face it. dez didn't do himself any favors by his play on the field, comments immediately following his release, and refusing the ravens offer.

I don't get the idea that he's waiting to try and get on a NFCE team, I mean that seems like a really bad gamble.

Well..no one has ever accused him of being a mensa member. lol.. If he's still holding out hope...he has clearly lost that gamble. No team is beating down the door to bring him in. Once he turned down Ozzie ..it killed his job market. That was plain dumb. He's not a smart man...heck..he aint even a man. I think mentally he's pretty much a 16 year old teenage boy.Its the way he acts.

The way he crapped on the team and those still working for the team as a player or staff member was unforgivable. I think the stain of how he left matters. Its the perception he's a hot head when he don't get his way. He created this,NOT JERRY. Nobody told him to do an interview. Nobody told him to run his mouth. Nobody told him to spurn the ravens, thus killing any shot he may have had at playing this year. ITS ALL ON HIM and frankly,I'm done talkin about him. NEXT.

I don't think Jerry wanted to release him and there was a debate on if they should keep him or not. That Friday when he was released was the weekend a decision had to be made because Monday if he showed up and got hurt Dallas was on the hook for the entire season.

I believe that is what took so long. And I do not really care. He could have signed with the Ravens. I'm sure there is a team out there that will pay him for a one year deal. My guess is he is pricing himself out of the market right now. He will eventually sign a one year deal for low amount (low in his eyes). I do not feel bad for him in anyway.

And I would would normally say I wish him the best but when you make comments that you want to stick it to the Cowboys then you have become the enemy. So I don't wish you the best.

Unhinged? What you talking about, Willis?

Yes, ad-hominem attacks on yahoo and Jerry. Google it.

And more deflection.

Maybe you should. You don't appear to understand its meaning.

Why are you in this thread? You are clearly not here to discuss the topic. You refuse repeatedly to address or make arguments and instead deflect and resort to logical fallacies. One could say it is trollish behavior.
