LOL @ thinking because he got voted to the Pro Bowl, that means it's Roy has had a good season. The fans voted him cause they didnt know any better and he went from #1 on the fan vote to no where to be mentioned on the original roster cause on the coach and player votes, he had no real support. The only reason he's a pro bowler these past two years is cause he's a Dallas Cowboy. Plain and simple.
The fan vote has never voted a single player into the probowl, it hasnt happened

and he went from #1 in fan vote to nowhere? He went to the problw as #2 SS as voted by players and coaches, so he went from #1 to #2 LMAO

Hamlin didn't provide any help on the deep coverage.

It looks like Cover-1.

Hamlin was covering El in the middle of the field, Reeves blew the coverage plain and simple

Naming the file "Hamlin blown coverage" does not change the facts

Hamlin didn't do a very good job playing Cover-1 last weekend.

Lot's of people blaming Reeves for the TD...but Hamlin left him hanging out to dry.

What happen on that play both Reeves and Hamlin messed up. Washington had run that deep cross for about 3 first downs the entire game. But on this play Moss faked like he was going to run the cross again and Reeves and particularly Hamlin tried to jump it instead of staying deep, and the rest is history.

Hmm....typically Cover 1 is accompanied by man coverage underneath. That clearly isn't the case here. This looks like it could very well be Cover 3.

The only reason he's going to the pro bowl is cause Taylor's dead.

Yeap, Reeves couldn't cover 1 WR because of a double move.....If you look at the Vid, Moss was his responsibility....Hamlin took the underneath Wr....simple as that....Reeves bit, and was toasted

Were the players and coaches not aware Taylor was dead before they voted?

If they were then they knew they were actually sending their first alternate to the pro bowl, who did they choose for their first alternate when they decided to make a tribute vote for Taylor?

Believe it or not, but I think Hamlin is more the beneficiary than Roy. Simply because of the differing positions. Roy lead SS. Sean Taylor lead FS. Hamlin's a FS and I doubt he had enough votes to get in by himself if Sean Taylor had been alive.

I won't argue that, but someone had to go in Taylors stead. I mean, duh.

And Williams wasn't even close to being tops in fan voting. Do some research before you blindly make accusations.

Taylor was already leading at the pro bowl vote before his death, so that claim is void.

The article posted on this very website had him at #1 or #2 in fan votes. Get your facts right before you catch feelings.

Williams was #1 in fan voting among all NFC safeties.

This is a bizarro thread man. Blaming Hamlin for bad coverage while semi praising Roy in a back handed kind of way. Weird.:laugh1:

I agree. It is possible that they were in Cover 3.

Even if it truly is Cover 1, it is still Reeves that is primarily at fault. His job was to stay with Moss in man coverage and Hamlin's job would then be to provide help. Reeves was the primary guy in coverage and he blew it.

Cover 1 or Cover 3 doesn't matter because both schemes put Reeves the CB as the guy most responsible for covering Moss. The FS can't hang the CB out to dry when the CB is supposed to go with the WR at all times in Cover 1. Especially when the CB ends up being several yards away due to biting on a fake.

for the curious...from the DMN blog regarding the final tally pro bowl fan votes

STRONG SAFETY
1. Roy Williams, Cowboys: 271,505

FREE SAFETY
1. Sean Taylor, Commanders: 258,544
3. Ken Hamlin, Cowboys: 157,689

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106325&highlight=bowl

According to Adam's last post regarding the probowl vote - 12/4

SS -- Roy still has more than twice as many votes as anyone else. Atari Bigby is second and LaRon Landry is third.

FS -- Sean Taylor got a lot of votes to increase his lead over Brian Dawkins. Hamlin is less than 10,000 votes out of first. Nick Collins is third, and there's a gigantic dropoff to No. 4, Gibril Wilson.
