Enough with Manziel. He's not going to be a Cowboy, period.

go with the "poor mans " version of Manziel........the QB from Wyo-----4th round or lower, let him learn under Romo for a few years, without the pressure to play him right off the bat.

Been saying that Brett Smith is far more likely for us if we're to draft a QB this year. He's the kid I would bet Garrett and Jones like best.

Put him in the backfield and run the wishbone with him and Murray and the HB option 20 times a game then the straight up option 10 more times a game.

You have any guarantees Romo's back will be all right? Two surgeries within a year. We aren't talking minor surgeries, either.

Actually, the cyst removal was a minor procedure. And as far as back surgeries go, this last one Romo had wasn't as major as some on here make it out to be.

I agree the chances are very slim. If he falls, then they might draft him. They aren't moving up to get him and they shouldn't. There isn't a QB in this year's draft worth trading up to grab in the first round.

When it comes to surgery on the back, I don't think there are any minor procedures, nothing I would call minor anyway. Just curious, do you know of any other NFL QBs who have had this done, herniated disc surgery? Any other recent NFL players?

Recent? No. Aikman had this same back surgery in 1993.

The cyst removal was a minor procedure.

He has the attitude that it takes to go against a defense like Seattle's, IMO.

It wont happen, though. Maybe if we hadn't extended Romo.

Wait til he gets hit by a defse like Seattle. .thab wr see if he has the right attitude

You ppl do realize this is a "Yahoo Contributor Network" and not an actual Yahoo Sports analyst. This is no different than one of us posting a topic on the zone. Nothing more. Let's not give this more credence than what it is, just a random fan's thought.

As for Manziel? Seriously? We have holes on the DL, LB, S, and even CB. Worst Defense in history and a QB that was playing at a Pro Bowl level, but hey, lets draft a QB.

I'm not against drafting a QB in this draft, but there's just too many needs to draft one in the top 2 rds where we can find immediate impact at DL, LB or S. Let's not forget Russel Wilson was a 3rd rd pick so outside of size the comparisons to Johnny Football ends.

Ah, the legend of the "cyst" that took all season to heal.

I wish we never did.....

I pray we find a way to get JM....I wish we could weasel our way out of Romo's contract.

I hear you. I am a big Johnny football fan and I am OK with the height thing as he wouldn't be a drop back pocket passer anyway, but he just seems so scrawny, that I am not sure he can take the beating that NFL games dish out. If you told me he would hold up physically I'd take him top 10 all day. I feel like he is the 2nd coming of Tarkington minus the fraud and such.

He's a bug gamble.

I think any team that would draft him #1 would also be doing it without benefit of seeing him play for 4 years first in college.

That's a big piece of the equation with Johnnie.

You are guessing all the way.

In light of that..

I'm against him coming here because this Franchise has had enough of this sort of personnel for a lifetime.

Does what? Trades up for Manziel or stays where he is and picks Manziel if available?

So we're gonna trade up to 1 overall for manziel ?

This was the post I was responding to. If Jerry goes all Danny Snyder-RGIIIandout and sends multiple high picks to the Texans in order to land Jonathan Pigskin, I'm finished with this team.

For the people who keep this love on Manziel I don't understand.

The kid is one of the most immature an selfish players in CFB and you all want him on the roster?

He isn't that talented and all of his throws go deep into double coverage for the most part.

He is NOT Russel Wilson and infact Wilson's character is the complete opposite of Manziel's.
