Yes our QB is a great leader, but what else?

Dak is a classic case of a player who had a limited ceiling and he has maxed out. His NFL career arc was supposed to just be a solid backup QB and good locker room teammate like Colt McCoy or Chase Daniel. Instead, he was drafted to one of the few teams and owner/GM who is obsessed with finding the next Tom Brady/Kurt Warner diamond in the rough at QB.

One of the reasons that attracted Dak to the Cowboys as a college player was his leadership abilities. It's evident in his years of being a cowboy that he's a great leader, he can galvanize the troops, and say the right things. With that said, there's more to being a leader than just these things. A leader on the football field also needs to be a winner for you as well. We all know what this team needs, we've been lacking it for 20+ seasons. This is the Dallas Cowboys, America's team, when you're the QB of the Dallas Cowboys, so many great things can take off for you monetarily. In the end, none of the fortune and fame can get you to play better if you're regressing, and no one is telling you about yourself. Please give your thoughts, it's good to be a leader, but we need wins!
I wouldn’t call him a leader. He’s just hip with the squad.

2019 called and wants its Cowboys take back. LOL

Agree with everyone else. You may be cool in the huddle, smart with defenses, a great teammate, but ultimately you have to win and make plays when needed to keep that 'leader' tag.
He’s not smart with defenses..

Dak is a great leader? That's hilarious. I guess we're going to say Garrett was a great leader too because he cussed a lot, right?

I never understood it...not calling him out but rocky was a proponent of Dak's "leadership". In order to be a great leader...you complete the mission. You make it so your team understands what's happening and put them in a position to accomplish the mission.

New Nikes and pats on the butt....."saying the right things"...isn't that. You can't just talk you have to DO! And it's my opinion that Dak hasn't done that.

Having said that...Dak does not HAVE to be this great almighty leader. He can do his job as a QB....that's fine. But as others said...I'm not giving it to him by default. Nobody said it would be easy.

and Romo had zero leadership skills...so you know he must have been very talented.
I knew Romo would be brought in to this....as usual.

"Dak sucks!"
"Oh yeah...well ROMO SUCKS MORE!"

Romo made average receivers look really good. Romo would put the team on his back...and often did succeed only to have to do it time and time again. The odds are eventually a failure happens. ROmo has very good 4th gtq numbers and come from behind wins. I'm not going to post them yet AGAIN...they are easy to find and if you don't believe it by now...nothing would help.

Romo took the heat for the team. WHILE DOING things. While we didn't "complete our mission"...Romo elevated a lot of players in his attempts. At least STRIVING to be that winning leader by EFFORT and to great extent...results.

Does Dak even do that?

The answer is of course ...no.

For you Dak Haters this is probably the game (Chargers/Cowboys) for you if you want Lance to get snaps towards the stretch run. Herbert is probably the most talented quarterback in the game right now. If Dak appears limited again and Herbert is lighting us up. Jerry might think we need to give this kid a try. Bobby Belt (Big Dak Media guy) thinks that Lance will play at some point this season.

By "Dak Haters"...do you mean people having some criticism of Dak...even though they know the rest of the team has issues too?

Do you mean some losing patience with a QB who said "no more interceptions"....and now sits near the top?

What is a "Dak Hater"?

He is not a great leader.

This is just something said about him because he has no ability or skills that make him great.

It's like calling someone a "gym rat" or "good locker room guy".

The "good leader" stuff is another narrative that needs to go away with this bum.
This generation of players just loves a quarterback or coach that doesn’t demand anything of them

Just look at how the Commanders players were crying about Eric Bienemy because he had the audacity to DEMAND dedication to their craft.

MM and Prescott are popular with the players because they're both soft when it comes to accountability

He certainly doesn’t lead by example.Says all the right things, but doesn’t back it up w/ performance on the field.

The Dak haters are the so called fans who wait for Dak to have a bad game and then they blame him for the past 28 years. Am I talking about you?

Agree. Jerry being on the practice field this past week tells you that Jerry is getting more desperate. He thinks he constructed a Super Bowl caliber team and anything less than a NFC championship game will not sit well with him. He might start making some moves if we lose to the Chargers. A win Monday night and that will save Jerry Jones’s head from exploding for another week.
