Is Cook gonna be active? I'm really curious to see him play as well. Easy for me to call him washed but I do hope last year was an outlier, recovering from injury and out of shape. It would be awesome if he worked out for us. Zeke too for that matter, I just feel like I know what to expect from him already
it would be odd to have both zeke and cooks active I don't believe you're gonna see that very much this year but who knows I have no idea what Mike McCarthy's thinking but I do know this he gave Rico down to a lot of flowers saying he could be a really solid 3 down back....

and after my long rant wasn't he drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars??? why isn't he still there?? I mean why is this guy now on his fourth team and by the way I feel like he's dropping off he's being overpaid right now and I don't even know why yes he's a good corners been a great corner at times,

we got those two we end up getting diggs, we end up getting bland, we end up drafting well we got a deep safety room so we're OK you can let this go..

it's been that long but if the Jacksonville Jaguars let him go and now i don't remember how many teams, he's been on is this his fourth team? So what are the odds he'd still be here very very low..

LET IT GO!!
The Jags traded him and received two first round picks and a 4th round pick. How much did we get when Zeke was washed and we let him go again?

That's good to hear. I hope they do believe in Rico and he gets the Lions share.

I mean he said that in an interview he said Rico has been nothing but steady and deserves be looked at as a three down back I mean that's what he said so I don't know how that's gonna work out on the field but he believes in Rico so I don't see how he would have Rico zeke and cooks all in the field at the same time or you know active on the same game day.. it wouldn't make a lot of sense

If he was a generational type player he never would have been traded I mean why would they not keep a guy they wasted a pickup I mean you're saying that we should have got a guy but they've not kept them past this rookie year that makes no sense that would mean he did not do for the Jaguars what you think zeke did not do for us now let it go man... It's gotta be one of the worst opinions on the board is to bring back that draft again and I already told you why it's it's just delusional and clueless and wasted thought whatever happened happened and since then we got our guys...

Zeke always started strong in his last years with us. But wore down quickly. Enough so that he couldn’t carry the load when Pollard started getting injured late in 2022.
Not wore down... Got hurt.. The knee took him down both 2021 and 2022. He and the team were too stupid to let the thing heal properly in 2021 and I firmly believe that contributed to how easy it was to re-injure it in 2022. Zeke now without that damn brace should be good to go!

All that being said, the larger point here is that Jerry coming out and thinking Elliott was a solution to their RB issues is pretty hilarious.

He was cheap and they knew him. That's why he was signed. Nothing more, nothing less.
You left out he was tough, physical, smart and reliable. Those might have been reasons as well. Just sayin..

Thought he was supposedly a situational guy.

Not exactly sure what that means, but when he enters the game on 3rd and 2, guess what coming. Mike has get creative with that and he is capable. Zeke could serve as a decoy in the right spots.

That all said, if Ezekiel Elliott is getting the 20+ touches some of you have predicted….wait never mind on that….under exactly WHICH scenario does that happen? I can’t see it. Enlighten me please.
Week will obviously be the freshest he or any player will be all year. Zeke could come out feelin it and the new road graders on the line could dominate the Browns and the coaching staff should have the good sense to ride him. I am not saying he SHOULD get 20+ touches.. but there will be games when he's feelin it and we need to feed him when it happens. If only for a drive or two. That's just good coaching.

Could be. I saw nearly none of him last year, but what I definitely recall about his last two seasons in Dallas as that he looked strong for the first six or so games, then slowed considerably after getting banged up. The long runs weren’t there but he still had a burst through the line. He really does take a beating….the pass protection often goes forgotten in that regard.

Now maybe they can keep him fresh over the whole season, don’t know. I just hope neither Zeke himself or Jerry try to mandate how he is used. Leave that to Mike and things have a better shot of working out. But….

Although I don’t agree with him even being here Zeke will be needed this week to help Guyton with Garrett.
I think Guyton may see something he didn't get to see in preseason which is a full speed and a wily vet determined to excel in a meaningful game. Hope he learns because if not Dak is gonna have a bad day at the office. If he is up to the task then I will be more inclined to say we have done well at replacing Tyron Smith. Garrett is a major test for the rookie.

I kinda think Cook is insurance in case Zeke runs out of steam or doesn't have it, as well as insurance for Rico cause he's been banged up his whole career. Any earlier activation would be simply because he's turning heads in practice and appears to be a clear upgrade.

First of all if you think our coaching staff's that clueless, they should be fired if they're not going to try to get help on both edges that they're not going to key on where's Garett and go add a double team to him a chip maybe three,

I mean that is how you stop guys like Garrett you don't leave him one-on-one not just with your rookie you don't leave him one-on-one period he will tear any team up leaving him one-on-one is that how you stop Micah Parsons do you really think if this was Michael Parsons against that the Cleveland Browns would leave Guyton by himself or even Terrence Steele hell I would be surprised if miles Garrett doesn't try three times to go through the middle over Beebee, isn't that what we do with Micah Parsons he might come from the right he might come from the left he might come from the middle on the line he might come from all over from off the ball and do teams leave him one-on-one?
why does this have to be Guyton vs Garett convo this is up to the coaches to not leave any of our OL exposed to taking on MG 1-1 very many snaps..he will wreck the game.

Sounds about right. Would we all be satisfied with that production?
What were you satisfied with paying $8 million to King Henry for 13 carries 47 yards and one touchdown ie 3.5ypc , curious? zekes not making 8mil , hes p[art of a rotation, so yes that's all we expect , :))

Hopefully as a Group we do Better than nay RB room on the chiefs or ravens both looked average at best.. go check out those final stats for the Rbs on both sides last night , not good..

all I'm saying is people are worried about our rookie left tackle going up against one of the best pass rushers in the league when they should be worried about how our coaches are gonna game plan and handle him and that they would be very stupid to leave any one of them one-on-one you need to locate miles Garrett on every damn snap and go figure out how to block him....

over/under is 30.5 yards rushing. I took the over. Not because I think Zeke will do well, but because I think week 1 he is going to get a lot of volume and that is a pretty low number. I also don't think Cook will be called up and be active this week
