I disagree 100%. The sideline is not a "public area." Not one of us know what was said by either guy. The fact that the cameras caught it is coincidental.

They should have handled it behind closed doors and they have.

The public has no right to an apology.

Let the dorks from BSPN have at it. Much ado about nothing. Campo made his point and we all know it. Time to move on.

You are going by what it sounds like in stating this firm opinion?

As with Crazy Cowboy, I disagree 100%. No public apology. I think that is a horrible idea in fact.

Agree.

It happened between 2 men and just because we saw it on camera doesn't mean we need to hear a public apology.

It's between those 2.

Hos,

What Newman did was wrong.

He was in the public eye....and caught on TV for the public to witness.

IMHO, an apology would be the right thing to do.

We will have to agree to disagree on this issue.

We will have to because I do. I think the more you air dirty laundry in public as opposed to behind closed doors the worse the fans and media will make out the original problem to be. Did you not learn anything from the TO fiasco last year?

Horrible idea. Utterly awful.

Hahaha if a "public apology" was needed anytime tempers flared a bit on the sidelines of an NFL game...

It would be a horrible idea to have a public apology for this incidence.

However, it would be even worse if Newman isn't fined or benched for some period of time.

Hos,

I do not want Newman to explain anything........

Just a simple statement like,

"A player should never push his coach.....for all you young players out there I want you to know--that was the wrong thing to do to your coach."

Now, would that be such a bad thing to do?

Come on Hos.......

Because it is always better to let these things die than to bring it up and have this become a daily question or turn in to something more than what it was. I do think Newman was wrong and I think it will be addressed where it needs to be addressed behind closed doors.

i'm not surprised at all

TNEW is a talented crybaby who rarely plays to his potential and makes many stupid mistakes.

he also helped divide the lockerroom last year spewin' TO's drivel. the guy believes his hype and is pretty much as stupid as they come on the field.

at least he parked his motor mouth this season.

Zoners:

A certain #41 CB Terrance Newman owes Coach Campo an apology for several reasons. I could not believe he shoved our coach on National TV!

#1 – Newman is supposed to be a professional and leader of our D.

#2 – Newman should set the example to our young CBs (Will Jenkins/Scandrick feel it is A-ok to shove our coaches in the future?:(

#3 – Most important, all High School kids need to hear an apology from Mr. Newman to his coach that even in the heat of battle it is NOT ever OK to disrespect your coach!

What do you Zoners think?

Newman's job is to play football, not to give canned "to all you young players" statements.

No reason to shine a bright light on a non-issue. Especially with the media foaming at their collective mouths for something like this to blow out of proportion.

Newman and Campo are men. They are professionals, and I'm sure they're WELL past their 10 seconds of angst yesterday.

No reason to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Move on.

Yes, it would be a horrible thing to do. If he did that it gives the media license to speculate on how big a rift there is and it removes the focus from the way this team has conducted itself all year.

I cannot even begin to tell you how passionately I hate the idea.

Come on, Hos.

I'm not sure whether I think an apology is the right thing to do or not, BUT how can you say that the sidelines of the largest stadium in the country, during a game witnessed by 100,000 people locally and millions nationally is not a public place? And what harm would a public apology possibly cause that makes it such a horrible idea?

Because it isn't. Until they bring it off the sidelines it was still in their house. That's where it should stay. The sidelines are an extension of the locker room.

Not with the feeding frenzy though if the team feels like it is an issue and addresses it.

Better question: what GOOD would come from it?

And don't tell me you think Campo needs to hear a public apology in order to forgive Newman.

I agree that they have already worked it out, however the fact is that Newman did it......heat of the game or not......he did a wrong.

He should be a man/leader and say he was wrong OR something to that affect.

A public apology would be a good idea for the simple fact the wrong doing happen in a public environment.
If it's already water under the bridge, why bring it up? We have moved on already. We don't need the drama!

LOL don't hold your breath waiting on a cowboy apologist to demand acountability.

of course TNEW should apologize in public... these dopes need better PR people

"I am deeply sorry for my actions. what transpired on the sidelines is inexcusable, & sent a bad message to teammates, coaches & fans. I hold myself accountable and will take necessary actions to never let such poor behavior happen again.
Again to my coaches, owner, teammates, family & friends I apologize"

grow a pair tnew.

:lmao2: There's no reasonable way you can make that argument. The players wave and talk to the fans FROM THE SIDELINES. Pictures and video are taken ON THE SIDELINES. It's PUBLIC by any definition of the word.:bang2:

If campo put his hands on Newman or tried and was rebuffed then it's cool I have no problem with the shove. No man has a right to put his hands on another. And since it was between those two it's should be handled between those two.

My son who is eleven knows that it's wrong to disrespect his coach, also knows that his coach knows his limits as well.
