Grade should not include Schotty. Just talking positional coaches only. Here is the list:

This new coaching staff is better than the Texas A&I coaching staff. And probably better than the N.M.State coaching staff.

I’m giving them a B
It will be tough going at first being defense will have to learn a new system but overall it looks on paper that he assembled a solid staff

I actually feel bad for the guy. It's not his fault. It's the billionaire Hucklebuck owners wanting to suddenly "be like the Eagles". Schotty is their Sirianni. The Jones boys don't know what else to do but literally copy what others are successful with. They've done that since Jimmy left basically. The fans are the suckers ultimately.

I gave it a C only because the actual appropriate grade IMO should be an “Incomplete”. How can you grade a coaching staff before a single game is played?

we ve been around the block. you know some teams when they hire a bad coach, that its going to go bad and you know some coaches dont mix well on a staff.

some coaches are to ingrained in their systems and others are not.

im not saying all but i know you were like me when a certain team hired a O coord here or a D coord there and we would say THIS ISNT GOING TO WORK. bam, accurate.


I honestly feel, JJ aside, so far, a good staff.

Like what I've read about Klayton Adams. Think Matt Eberflus is a good DC.

Assistant staff who knows honestly. Quite a few from the NCAA, see how they do.

Like the Coordinator hires more than the HC one so far lol

Jimmy had a staff full of guys from the NCAA so I am optimistic.

The HC hire is a D. The process to hire him gets an F. The assistant coaches add up to a B. So give it a mediocre C overall

If they get creative and nasty with the running game, and take the ball out of Dak’s hands (20-25 attempts per game max), they have a chance to be competitive again.

The D needs a lot of work. Holes everywhere and they will be on their 3rd DC in 3 years. Not a lot of positives to look at

B: Considering we haven't seen one practice yet, love the attempts to get better and not have this buddy system atmosphere of hiring coaches just because you worked with them elsewhere! Get new ideas, plans, and thoughts in here!!

yes he seemed to want to get the best people he could , and they are all new!!
So I expect to see a really different team this season, not the same crap we have seen since 2010.

Mostly, I like that it was Schottey who picked them and not Jerry.

Incomplete grade. But can be an A grade. Has promise. Sorensen might be the only weak link. Not sure he was very good at his job. I guess it's a case of trusting Eberflus on this hire.

It feels like the biggest propaganda campaign how quickly everyone fell in line with how amazing things are....meanwhile we have no RB, one WR, a hobbled QB, a questionable OL, a non-existent D-line outside of what Micah? LBs weak, CBs hurt/weak outside of Daron, and I guess sadly Safey and O-line end up as our best position groups.

Well by that measure that would be all the new head coaching hires especially first time head coaches they're all starting on equal footing which should be Idi guess in your opinion ground floor basement... which ones will take the stairs which will take the elevator we will find out..

i'm going with a B it leaves room to go up or down...

Yeah that takes way too much sense common sense but that's not how it works people come out with preseason rankings they're ranking quarterbacks they're ranking divisions they're literally have everything ranked already.. It's all premature but by your logic we need to wait till all 17 games are played because you need the full picture right no incomplete not one game at a time because the seasons 17 games long and sometimes teams start hot and then fall off sometimes they start cold and they gain energy and get into the playoffs late you have to put it on hold all of it then no big time exaggerations one way or the other after one or two games.. hmmm.

B. 1 because I love the extent of the search,2 I believe Shotty handpicked the entire staff, and the Jones didn't interfere. B also because most of the staff are unproven.

One of the better staffs I can remember in a long time, although I have no idea how well Schottenheimer performs as HC.

Its all for nothing if the FO doesn't let them build the roster though. FA isn't a luxury, it's a necessity if they actually want to compete.
