Good morning, pops and pen pals. I got my 1st mowing done on Sunday. Hoping that will do it for the week but I think it will need one more. Our golf course is closed on Mondays for maintenance and the 6 y.o. likes to go hunt for lost golf balls. He has me climbing down and up back up steep and deep ravines and barrancas. We found 32 balls and five bird hawk feathers yesterday. That's quite a treasure for a little boy.

Colo, you could always go with something like High Plains Cowboy. That should get you through at least one more future move.

Well, long day yesterday. Good news was that the Wife finally did get home around 11:30 PM. Apparently, they stopped off in Vegas to do some shopping.

So, what's going on today people? It's humpday so just gotta get through this day and we are headed for the weekend.

Colo, take a trip to Cooke City and just do the Beartooth. Awesome drive with a breathtaking panoramic view.

Maybe you should change your handle to Beartooth or maybe Cooksie? IDK, just spitballing here.

Your "1st" mowing? I haven't mown my yard in three weeks, because it's only grown about an inch since then. With this tropical storm about to roll through today, maybe it'll get enough rain to start growing again, and maybe even turn green!

I have pics of the Continental Divide and Mystic Lake from like 20 years ago that are one of a kind. It's just so beautiful there that you can't really even explain it to people. Definitely do that and take some time to check out the falls around the area. Have fun and let me know what the new name is going to be. Of course, I'm always just gonna call you Colo.

Morning Pops and people with power to their plugs.

Well, the tropical storm rolled through pretty quickly yesterday, and unfortunately, it didn't leave behind nearly as much rain as it did destruction. I stepped outside at about 5:00 in the afternoon, and all I could hear was wind and trees breaking. They were using plows to clean the debris off the streets. I lost power at around 4:30 and as far as I know, I still don't have it at my house. Hopefully it's back on by the time I get home from work, so I can move all my perishable food from the cooler to the fridge.

Good luck on that. I read where Mount Washington recorded 147 mph winds. I believe that's where a former sister station of mine, when I was in PA, has their tower. I remember the tower crews talking about how much more they got for working up there because the average wind is around 70 and tops 100 a lot in the winter. I cannot imagine climbing a tower under those conditions, or any conditions.

I cannot imagine climbing a tower under those conditions, or any conditions.

I spent a winter building houses up near Mt. Washington. We were on top of a mountain where we could see Mt. Washington only a few miles away. It was so cold, we'd work for ten minutes, then sit in the van for twenty. I almost died up there, because it was so cold, the frost on the roof wasn't visible, and I took a couple of steps, then went sliding down the roof on my butt. It was a two story house, and where I was headed was toward a 100-150 foot cliff. We had 2×4's nailed across near the bottom of the roof, so I planted my feet, closed my eyes and hoped like Hell it held....Clearly it did.
