We’ve seen what we are with Dak. And without Dak we don’t have anything .
But does Dak solve all of our problems without other of weaknesses properly addressed.
He was leading the league in passing with a top offense but we were still 1-3. 8-8 last year and peaked a couple times in divisional playoff losses.
If we have to over invest offensively for this mighty offensive train but it leaves the defense behind that ultimately leaves us out then I’m not sure this is the answer.
Also with us being 1-3, Dak being a good quarterback, had slow starts but was able to turn it on in heroic efforts and make a lot of yards and get us back into the game. The question is: is that sustainable for an entire season, making comebacks, playing a fast pace game to catch up and make a lot of yards? It requires a lot of extra work, when we as a team dig ourselves into a hole, which includes the quarterback, and then we are supposed to overcome that week in and week on. The chip kelly offense wasn't sustainable going at such a pace, and I felt that heroic almost comebacks as being the same. I mean they are alright if you mount such an effort a few times a season, but if you do that every week, eventually the team will tire out, injuries will happen, or the team will just give up when they get no results.
