Its time to stop chasing 2016.. A year that had more to do with Zeke and the OL then it did Dak.

2016 shouldn’t cost us a decade of mediocrity but it will.
You are way too negative.

Dak has a great shot at being the best qb in the NFC in 2 years. Name a normal player qb that has started since day 1 and went 13 and 3 in his first year. Name one. Since when is that normal?

I hope he is... we signed him but Dak can't make the throws especially to the sidelines like Zach Wilson is making at his pro day. It's a moot point because we're just speculating at what could have been...relax.

Tom Brady doesn't have an arm like Wilson either.

I don't think there is any debate....he's got the better arm....better mobility. If Trevor Lawrence went to S. Carolina...then Zach is your clear cut #1. It's the program that is sell Trevor.

There is a lot of debate. Lawrence has the stronger arm, over all. Lawrence is bigger, he has every bit of the mobility. He's 6'6 with prototypical attributes. He can make every through, he's proven it against the very best competition in this country. Lawrence is the clear cut number 1 IMO but, Wilson has the better velocity on all throws, all angles sustained. He gets better stuff on his ball when throwing from all platforms and he can generate serious velocity on the move throwing across his body. He has the better upside IMO. The question will be, who can read defenses better and who goes to the better situation? That will ultimately decide who has the better career IMO.

But yes, I do believe that the higher ceiling is with Wilson. That kid is a better throwing, stronger armed, just flat more talented Romo IMO.

No but Brady is very accurate and exhibits above average decision making at the position
And Dak is good and will be one of the best during his current contract. It is a tremendous advantage to have a good qb. The majority of the teams don't have one and will not have one. When you have one, you do not let him go.

No I’m not..

People need to accept the reality of what is inevitable so we can start fixing these problems instead of applauding Jerry for his smart football moves that lead to mediocrity.

I think most of us know how inept the front office But I was a fan long before Jones got here. I have no faith that they have any clue. I just hope we get lucky with a combination of coaches and players and just maybe we’ll make a run to the title. But I ain’t holding my breath. The struggle is real and continues. Lol..

Well I grew up knowing nothing but Superbowls and now I feel like a Targaryen that got yanked from Westeros and I’m ready to go back and take what is mine.

Unfortunately for us this family business just goes from one Jones to another. And baby boy Jones is just as bad as his dad.

I hate that we just paid 40 million for less talent.
Dak no dak. Romo no Romo. This team doesnt care about defense or free agency. For all of you who think that if we drafted a rookie that we would start magically spending money in free agency. Look to the last 5 years. We dont use FA to do anything. I dont know why you people dont get this. lol

How did that end for that Targaryen? LOL. Actually lets not even discuss how horrible that last season was. What a waste of a show. Once George stopped writing books the writers had no clue what to do.

I honestly don’t know how anyone can watch this guy and be confident he busts.

The talent and skill set is A+++++++

He may bust but I don’t know how you could project that with the information available.

It all depends on what situation he goes to IMO. He has the talent to be a really good NFL QB if he goes to the right team.

I would have traded Dak (who I like, great guy) and moved into the #2 spot to land this guy, then used the cap space to build a "real defense" and make a run, but we have no stones.
Same ole story in Dallas this year, maxed at the cap with a middle of the pack defense... if we're lucky.
OMG. how many times do we have to go through this...4 out of 5 first round QBs fail in the NFL and they are all highly touted to go in the first round...so if Lawrence is the can't miss prospect, then chances of the rest failing is fairly high....every year and I mean every year there are fans of this QB and that QB and they swear that he is going to be great..

and what are you going to build with 17 M....Dak's cap hit is 22, a rookie makes what? something like 5M a year or more perhaps. so you are going to rebuild a defense that needs 2 DTs, a CB, two safties, a couple of LBs and some depth at DE with 17M!!!! really...show me how.....

We could have done plenty with 17M, like Sign Jaron Reed (DT) and KJ Wright(LB) to start and still have 8-10M left. Next year 2022 Dak counts 33m against cap, 44m in 2023 and 47M in 2024. I can do an awful lot with that kind of money. Personally I would have built the #1 defense in the league with that kind of cash...hell maybe even something that would rival the '85 bears

Trading Dak would not have resulted in the Cowboys suddenly investing heavily in headlining free agents. They had Dak on a rookie deal for four years and didn't do it. Why would they suddenly change their mindset?

At that time we were in cap hell too with Romo and a few others but I know exactly what you're saying.... Notice I said "Personally"
