That's the spirit laddie! Not me, yet...the day is still young.

True!every team has dead cap money. and every team kicks a few cans down the road. its a matter of how big the can is.
The problem lies where some fans shout "DAK SUCKS!!!" because he missed a key throw in the final drive or in your analogy the last shot. Dismissing the fact that he threw for 375yds and 2 tds because the run wasn't working, calling them empty stats or stats padding. Expecting someone to be perfect, SOLEY based off the money they make is the reason threads like this are made. The game squeezes down as it goes. Of course you want to take advantage of every opportunity, of course many plays effect the outcome.
So you are telling me as a kid you never dreamed of making the game winning shot? We did because....it's a big deal. The best of the best performance in the crisis and heat of the moment. Dak failed on an easy shot.
It's fine...it happens.....just admit it free and clear without all the other noise.
You're not talking about then and now. You are talking about the future. In the future, Dak's salary will be a bargain compared to future salaries of QB's that didn't accomplish half of what Dak has done so far. That was then and this is now. He still got greedy and handcuffed the team and you know it just don't want to admit it. lol

With that said, part of the problem is the way in which the Cowboys approach the position. They never made an effort towards an alternative. If the Cowboys had committed to the position by routinely drafting a QB in the top three rounds every 3rd year then they would have been able to create viable competition which could have been leveraged during salary negotiations.
The Cowboys would be 4-7 or worse with a QB that had a lesser cap hit.
If the win it and that is a big if.... The QB won't be the reasonI'm curious PD, you clearly are not a Dak fan and would rather we hadn't signed him long term. You equally are not happy at how much finance has been tied up in him but my question is this, IF in the next 4 seasons, Dallas wins a super bowl or two, would you relent and soften your stance towards him or would the hate continue?
Much like it hasn’t been the qb holding the TEAM backIf the win it and that is a big if.... The QB won't be the reason
I would say he is more Cowboys first. Dak's impotence as a QB has nothing to do with him as a person. Love the guy, just not that impressed by what he brings to the field.Well, you're anti-Dak first, so you are just the opposite side of the same coin he is on. I absolutely have no doubt you would rather the Cowboys lose than see them win with Dak at QB.
Yes, this season was always going to be our best shot before losing good players due to the salary cap hits. Granted, the cap will likely increase but so does the market value for players so it becomes even harder to keep certain players. We better hope the NFL cap jumps up in a big way or we won't be able to surround him with the cushion of talent to which he has become accustomed.
I kinda wish he would get out now.His cap hit is (2021)17.5m
(2022) 34m, (2023) 45m (2024), 48m with a chance to get out in 2024 that last year.
Can anyone confirm the above is correct?
Add in the trade clauseI kinda wish he would get out now.
Which poll was that? The poll on a forum that only represents the extreme fans that enjoy talking on forums. Even you can see how this doesn’t actually represent real life fans……From the latest polls that I have seen, close to 1/3 of Cowboys are not really Dak fans. Are all of them trolls and haters? I didn’t frame you with any other words than your own.
It may be wrong to expect him to be perfect all game long.....but is it wrong to expect him to be perfect in that moment? An easy pass...in crunch time....when we need him most.the big money elite qb.The problem lies where some fans shout "DAK SUCKS!!!" because he missed a key throw in the final drive or in your analogy the last shot. Yep...that easy pass ....in ot. Earning those big dollars. Elite play.Dak is earing his money, no doubt about that.
Getting up there in years as much as I hate to admit.I wish like hell we could keep him too, and that's especially true given the fact Cooper seems to frequently have nagging injuries he is trying to play through.
The money part us a big deal. That is how you make the big money you make the plays. The harder they are the more you get paid. And you are expected to continue....The problem lies where some fans shout "DAK SUCKS!!!" because he missed a key throw in the final drive or in your analogy the last shot.
