Morning, Pops and everyone. I have decided to be an early adopter of the new reservoir implant in the eye, which will deliver the medicine continuously for six months or more. Then I can avoid having shots in my eyes every four weeks. My doctor takes a conservative approach as far as avoiding anything potentially dangerous to my eyes, and he is super high on the new treatment.

It dispenses a medicine that has been on the market for years through injections and is proven to be safe. The implant technology is almost identical to the pressure valves they implant for glaucoma patients. I feel safe going this route. The implant in the first eye (my worst one) will be late February or March.
Good luck, @LeonDixson ...isn't modern medicine amazing! Still, I tear-up just thinking about it.

Here's hoping that works out and I think my Mom might have opted for that had it been available.

Morning Pops, poodles and podiatrists. Never too early to keep one's alliteration skills sharp and as nonsensical as ever. The key to nonsensical alliteration is that they must not connect to make any sense. And I have long been considered a master at stringing words together that make no sense or actual sentences.

Some are taking this loss hard and some are blaming the officials, apparently a Cowboys fan affliction, and of those 14 penalties those undisciplined players made, I counted at least 10 more that could have been called. They simply lost that game because they did not play well enough to win it and the Niners did.

I am glad to say the loss had no effect on me. The loss is on them, not me. And I must say, the quickness some of these players turn to blaming the refs instead of owning their own mistakes is a little alarming. It is one thing to have a certain group of fans with this conspiracy theory nonsense but players not owning their mistakes means they do not get corrected. The lesson learned should have been for the Cowboys and Raiders, neither is good enough to make mental mistakes and overcome them. In a way, I thought justice was served that they both lost.

I also must say that I became absolutely gleeful at Booger getting all perturbed and taking his Johnnie Walker Blue trip to the locker room. Probably to hold the hands of Collins, Gregory and Williams and blame the mean ole refs.

The best teams have moved on, long live the playoffs!

Well, as horrifying as that sounds, it sounds much better than a needle in the eye! Best of luck, my friend!

Good morning Pops and friends. Well CC, the loss bugged me. I usually set my expectations a little low so the disappointment won’t be big at the end of the year. With the success during the season, I got suckered in with lots of other fans and my expectations got way out of hand. Big disappointment…again. Oh well, I’m still a die hard Cowboy fan. After all, it’s part of my DNA ;)

Have a good day friends. :)

MEANWHILE....
GrammaJan caught on video showing "Sam", she's ticked!
:muttley:
Cute, but I have a right to be ticked. I’ve invested far too many years in a team that can’t seem to figure out how to play as a cohesive unit when they have the talent to do so much.

Been quietly considering calling it done with football altogether. Too many disappointments in life as it is and used football as my escape for many of those years, but I’m just ‘asking for it’ following this team (as proven time and again), and I refuse to jump ship to another. There’s much more behind it all though for me, and I’m not putting it all on the Boys. That would be stupid. Sometimes… life just sucks, ya know?

I need me some joy…

Darlin', ya gotta try to remember, it's only a game. Sure, you get upset when they don't live up to their potential, but then ya just gotta let it go after a day or two.

Just one more disappointment in a long line of disappointments already this year. Time to do some housecleaning of what’s in my control and get rid of some toxicity.

I recall when they won what, 6 in a row & everyone who likes other teams said "you must be siked". I chuckled & replied "nope, I'm a Cowboys fan & haven't been excited since the 90's".

This year isn't any different being the balloon will be popped sooner or later. Twenty-five years w/only 3 playoff wins is a disgrace. If not for Romo & Dak, those other 8 quarterbacks after Aikman were horrendous.

Oh, I fully expected what happened. Sad, huh? In fact, I KNEW it would go down the way it did… to the point that I told my son-in-law I would fly him in to where I live to watch the game if they made it to the super bowl. Yup. I was that confident. They are consistent. I’ll give that to them. I really don’t get my hopes up beyond hopefully winning the division each year.

Good evening, Pops and Popsadoodles. First off, wishing Leon much success with his procedure. We're pulling for you, you naughty thing. Next, I will not discuss our devastating loss to those red and gold devils. Third, I've wondered when to tell y'all my next story. It's true and maybe a glimpse inside my head that shows the wacky and wonderful world that can be my gray matter.

Have you ever daydreamed about winning the lottery and what you would do with the money? Sometimes you can advance mankind (translation - favorite relatives) and see how grateful they would be. Sometimes you just want to flaunt it in front of mankind (translation - the other relatives). Buy a new home on a tropical island with solid internet access so you can watch your shows in a theater setting with electric recliners that vibrate and heat. A big soft fuzzy blanket, legitimate popcorn machine, fresh toasted chocolate covered almonds and whatever else your little heart desires. There's main land activity too like rubbing your richities under more noses. This is not what I daydreamed this time.

I allowed my brain to wander off and found myself trying out in front of Simon Cowell for American Idol. I walked in to the private audition and they asked what I was going to sing. I said Neil Diamond's I Am...I Said in the styling of Elmer Fudd. The judges listened a little while before Simon stopped me and asked for me to sing another song. I don't remember what the second was, but the third was by Bon Jovi and the fourth's Pow Some Sugaw On Me by Def Leppard got me in. Paula Abdul was beside herself over my fresh take on music. Only in my daydreams.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Oh yeah! I do that all the time. Walter Mitty has nothing on me.

They should create another in the Xelda series. "The Dreams of Xelda". You make my real life seem so boring.

You clean house and I snow plow... not so much to work off the toxicity as it is to process (yes, I used the "P" word) the loss and the season.

So, if this helps, here are a few, random, snow-plowing thoughts:

I really enjoyed the early portion of the season and watching Mica Parsons develop into one of the best and most exciting players in quite some time. And, to think, I was really against drafting him.

The loss really didn't affect my outlook on life or, in anyway adversely affect me... unless you count overly aggressive plowing.

It is just a game and and, in a greater sense, entertainment. And, I have to admit, I was entertained.

Hey, I still come to this forum and converse or joust (as the case may be) with other like-minded fans.

And, just wait until next year!

I would pay good money to see and hear that! Maybe, we could do a duet for "Sweet Caroline" with me doing background vocals..

Not so, I think my brain was bored and went off on a tangent. At one point I caught myself having this daydream and thought oh well, let it go. Oh, that second song was Chicka Boom Chicka Boom, don't you just love it. I don't know where that one came from.

Sure! When you're ready. Huh huhhuhhuh (as close as I can get to his laugh).

Morning, Pops and all. It's been cold here the last few days with "feels like" temps of 11 degrees. Supposed to start warming up today.
I would have loved a "feels like" temp of 11° the past several days. Friday morning, while handing off about 600 board feet of lumber, it was actually -5°, with a slight breeze that felt like ice water being poured down your back. But here too, it's supposed to start warming up. I just hope that doesn't mean we're in for a nor'easter.
