But I think the Cowboys are being underrated by not only the Zoners here, that’s to be expected as they’re miserable ignorant couch potatoes, but also by the national media talking heads. And I LOVE it!

Everyone is trashing them because of Tyron Smith’s injury. But Smith missed 6 games last year and was limited in a couple of others. Yet the Cowboys won 12 games.

Everyone is trashing them because they lost Amari Cooper. Yet Cooper only had 68 receptions for 865 yards and the Cowboys won 12 games.

Everyone is trashing them because Elliot who played with a torn PCL only had 1,002 yards and a 4.2 ypc average. No one is giving him, and the team, credit for being healthy.

No one is giving them credit for having a very deep TE depth.

Everyone is trashing them because Gallup is injured. Yet he may play in game 2 or 3.

No one is giving them credit for improving their defense and instead crapping on them for letting Gregory go. The defense has arguably the best defensive player in the NFL in Parsons. He’s a game changer. He’s in the elite status like Donald.

They got beat in the playoffs by the 49’ers because of their lack of run defense. But no one is acknowledging that Bohanna is better, that Gallimore is back from injury, that the DE’s have great depth, that the LB’ers are better and have more depth, that the CB’s are better and have more depth, that the Safeties are better and have more depth.

No one is giving them credit for having a dynamic punt and kickoff return man.

All the habitual Debbie Downers here and in the media are saying the Cowboys have no chance to reach the Super Bowl much less win the NFC East.

But I’m here to tell you, and there are some others who agree with me, that don’t sleep on this team. Every Super Bowl team needs the breaks to turn their way. All of them. If the Cowboys get those breaks, avoid the serious injuries to key players, this team can go all the way.

You band wagoners are not going to get any slack once you jump on. It’s now or never.

Ya'll gotta quit biting on Rocky's posts.

If the Cowboys are playing well then he'll be here talking and name calling like always.

If the Cowboys aren't playing well then he will vanish until next season like he did a few weeks before the playoffs last year and only resurfaced here lately.

He only says this stiff to get ya'll riled up. He doesn't even believe it himself.

"Everyone" isn't doing anything.

The media is set up for Cowboys coverage and it seems the requirement is each side represented to get the clicks and viewers. This is not your average NFL team and has not been treated that way for years.

There is required Cowboys coverage and within that scripted points of view to make sure both sides are pulled in.

None of these people knows how it's going to go which is why we have the disappointing and surprise teams every season. What did they say about the Bengals before last season?

I would love to be as optimistic as you but after this offseason I just cannot get there, brah.

Losing Cooper, Wilson, Collins and Gregory will hurt the team. Losing Tyron is going to hurt a lot more. It didn't have to hurt as much as it will but Jerry decided not to go out and spend to replace those guys will capable players. Instead he went cheap and got James Washington at league minimum. He elevated Noah Brown who has not really done much in 5 years (sorry, I have yet to see a player suddenly become a star after 5 years of being a bench warming JAG). I like Fehoko coming out in the draft but last year he showed little ability to separate from NFL CBs. He might be better this year but I seriously doubt he will be a star. With Gallup hurt the Cowboys WRs group looks pretty pathetic.

Now look at the offensive line. Who is playing LT? Right now, who knows. The C was an issues last year. The RT is still relatively unproven. LG looks like it will be Connor McGovern. And Zack Martin is a year older than Tyron Smith. The Cowboys are in a division with some really good DTs. The OL cannot be a weak spot.

I like Sam Williams and he will be good in a year or two, but he is a rookie. We cannot expect him to be the next Micah Parsons. Fowler is a journeyman who never reached his potential. Again, why do we expect him to suddenly reach stardom because he is playing for the Cowboys? The Cowboys could have a weak pass rush in 2022 as teams focus on stopping Parsons.

I like that Bohanna has improved, along with Hill, and Gallimore shows signs of being a powerful pocket pusher in the middle, but I do not think the Cowboys run defense was just the guys in the middle. The bigger roblem was allowing RBs to get outside compliments of DEs who lost containment way too often. Some of that was Gregory being too aggressive, but it was not just Gregory.

Jerry believes the Cowboys players are better just because he picked them and they wear a star on their helmets. I don't share his fantasy.

The Eagles are going to win the division. They are just too strong on both lines and they have filled the gaps they had last year on defense. All Hurts has to do is not screw up and they will win a lot of games. And if he does, my guess is Minshew will replace him before the season is over. But Hurts has a strong OL, an excellent WR group, and a good running game. It would take a lot for him to mess this up.

I don't see anything wrong with being optimistic about your team. Frankly, if I felt as badly about the Cowboys as many on this forum feel, I would find another hobby to occupy my time rather than subject myself to my negativity about what I am presently passionate about. I definitely wouldn't be on this forum because I wouldn't take the time to be on it. I guess negativity is better than apathy but not by much.

As far as my feelings on the season, I feel like they can make a run if things break their way with injuries and younger players stepping up like they should. No sense worrying about what could go wrong, but rather hope that things break right. I am expecting Dak to take another step forward and the defense becoming elite which will result in a deep playoff run. That's my mindset going in the season and I try not to let the usual suspects on this board ruin it for me

Lol you just mentioned a bunch of names without any logic or reasoning for why they’ll be better than everyone thinks they are.

Yea Bohana and Gallimore will fix the run defense.
Yea Steele, Biadasz, and McGovern will just flip a switch and be good.
Yea having three living breathing TEs means that’s a strength now.
That WR group is mediocre and a downgrade from last year even with Gallup healthy.
Yea Zeke is going to reverse aging and be explosive again.

Of course we got a chance. We have a better Defense and hopefully ST than last year. I would feel better if I knew we had another proven WR. And how our O-Line was going to do. In the past we knew we would have a good O-Line. Once Fredbeard left things got different.

Your extreme need to insult everyone who disagrees w/ you is quite pathetic. And your name calling and calling members out is just sick, as well as against the rules of this fine site.

This reminds me a lot of the 2016 offseason. Coming off a good year they did ZERO to build upon that season. Lost an offensive lineman and LB I think. Just went with the draft and pretty much crossed their fingers. I think we went 9-7 in 2017. People had to be asking themselves, what are they doing? Right now is the time to act, not do the same thing you did after we were 4-12.

I do believe this is their SOP and it is intentional. Otherwise I'd have to think they were mildly lacking upstairs. I would use the R word, but I think that's a curse now.

I'm already used to this. Cowboys will not pay for high priced free agents no matter what. Cowboys will not move up in the draft on day 1 or 2. We got one big trade for Cooper, but besides that, they don't do that either. It's just the draft and fill holes through FA. This is their SOP regardless of the prior season.

We have to hope we have another 2014 season when everyone had the Cowboys in last place. I think ESPN and their wizards had us at 6-10.

While I hated losing the SF game it made sense. They were hot. They beat GB in GB in the snow the next week too. Totally shut them down.

By histoical facts alone I am down on how this season will go. Now, can they fly unde the radar? Anything can and will happen in the NFL, so there is no guarantee in my mind, but history speaks to this being our down year. No Smith, no Amari, no Gallup for however long is not how we started last season. Like it or not the Eagles are a contender this year so the sailing will not be as smooth either.

Every year we open with question marks, and this is no different....I think we will know lots 4 games in, and if Zach goes down our we suffer more injuries on the OL all optimism is off in my mind...oh, and can we rely rely upon Zeke? No PCL, but lots of other body parts are likely to get hurt as it's clear that our owner feels his body is able to play at a high healthy level still....and doube oh yeah, have we really fixed our penalty addiction?

When the 4-12 Rams lost Trent Green for the year in late August, who had them winning it all and being regarded as one of the greatest offensive teams ever?

That's miracle type stuff, but it's very possible all 20 things this FO counts on to go right actually happens once or so.
