For all of the good times and moments he’s provided for this team, I sure hope Dallas gets him a ring. He deserves it. He carried this team for years.

People can hate on him on they want, but few could deny it would be cool to see him and Dak get a Super Bowl together. The story from their rookie year until now would come full circle.
yep, he has been a great teammate this year, knows that it is over for him but he gave us some great years in the past and I will always remember that.

Love the guy but it's time. He's got Zero burst. Every effort should be made to replace him next season. Just imagine this offense with Bijon Robinson, the RB from Texas.

You can't realistically expect a RB to be able to perform at elite level at his age. Jerry overpaid, as usual. Not Zeke's fault. It rarely makes sense to ever offer a RB anything more than their rookie contract. Zeke could have been easily replaced in the draft. But Jerry always thinks he knows better.
We aren't even looking for elite level any longer. How about just adequate down the stretch? Nope. He's now useless.

And the same people who say giving a RB a big second contract now wants to sign Pollard to just that.

I honestly feel bad for him.

His idiotic fans that talk him up cause him to get more hate than he deserves.

I concede that Zeke is not what he was. (Who is?)
Before crapping all over him, though, I would suggest
counting how many of those 40 carries were in short
yardage situations. I'll set the over/under at 18.
No idea what it is. What say you?
I actually thought Buck said he was 13-15 on the 1 yard runs. That’s nice. He also got that big one last night where he threw his big head forward into a ton of garbage to get it

No more treads on his tires. I was hoping his poor play down the stretch of the regular season was just him saving himself for the playoffs, but he still looked washed last night.

Short yardage specialist
I would offer him a cheap contract next year and cut him if he rejected it.

The crusade continues.....I'm beggining to think Zeke is the only one on the field.

IF Zeke really wants to stay a cowboy MAYBE you can turn the rest of his guaranteed $ (and maybe a little more) into a 3 year deal that could easily take Zeke to the end of his career at 30/31. Guarantee him $21M over the next 3 years and lower his cap hit to $7M a year. It’s either something like that or we are just eating 11.8M in dead cap. Or the worst case scenario- Jerry does nothing and pays Zeke his 16.7M cap hit next year.

Guarantee him 7 M salary from a backup role makes no sense. Dallas needs to pay Pollard because someone else will. 7M can be going to him. Dallas can pick up another short yardage RB in round 3.

I would love this and would be an appropriate for one of the best Cowboys in the last 20 years. Im selfishly hoping he’ll retire rather than dawn another jersey, but sadly his time here is over after this year

I absolutely love Zeke but I’d rather see what Malik Davis can do going forward. Both he and Pollard have a noticeable burst whenever they get a handoff. Zeke is just quick enough to avoid a negative play but he’s not fast enough to make anyone miss anymore. The first guy always gets him. If he’s lucky, Zeke can push the pile a little bit before going down. It’s painful to watch at this point.

He'd be a fb on mostly any other team at this point.

To be fair, a lot of those carries are short yardage/goal line looks where a gain of 1-2 is actually successful.

But yeah, that's still an awful average.

Zeke is a north-south runner, ...KM had him running plays outside and that is not gonna work at all. He doesn't have the speed, or agility to outrun or make quick cuts, like Pollard. Best to use him quick hits up the middle or off tackle but there was not much there.. That is his only strength. Pollard more versatile and able to attack outside.

He is a FB now. We need to treat him as such. Short yardage, swing passes and blocking.

Giving him so many first down runs is a waste of a down.
