First, I don't think anyone truly thinks Dak is better than Aikman...he (Dak) does benefit from being in a modern era offense and will surpass all of Aikmans accomplishments with the exception of SBs most likely). With that said, Aikman did benefit from being a part of one of the most talented teams of all time. Everyone on that team benefitted from playing together (i.e., the true definition of a team accomplishment). I do not think itis absolute he would have been a HOFer without being a part of one of the greatest dynasties of the NFL.

As a Cowboys fan from the early 70s, I truly appreciate what the teams of the 90s accomplished as whole. I have never seen a team who complimented each other as well as those teams...to the point you could have 500 coaches take those teams to the SB (e.g
, Switzer).

What I don't understand is why we have to try to put down one cowboy player for another. It really blows my mind. As a Cowboys fan, I backed every player that has ever played for this team in hopes they would help the team achieve greatness. If it didn't work out, e.g. Campo years, quincy and all the failed baseball players, I moved on and supported the next man up. Every player works within the God given gifts they have to be a successful player. Some work out, some do not. That is life. But being a fan is supporti g the players you have through thick and thin...my 2 cents and approach to being a Dallas Cowboys Fan.

Aikman TORCHED people. Dak hasn't lit a match yet. I mean, c'mon. It's doubly embarrassing because I can picture OP working at Starbuck's and worrying if his Tik Tok post has 100 upvotes yet.

I am growing tired of all these new Cowboy fans on the internet praising Dak and trying to discredit Aikman. Aikman is an absolute legend and watching him back in the day was an honor. I know some people here don’t like me and that’s fine but I think we can all agree that Aikman was a bonafide legend and had more guts than Dak ever had! Im old enough to remember the glory days of the Cowboys and I just want to see this team to return to their former glory. Call me a troll, I don’t care!!! I’ve even seen posts on here from people claiming Aikman wasn’t that good and he rode his team’s coattails. Aikman was a true Cowboy and one of my favorite Cowboys. They don’t make QBs like him anymore. Yeehaw!!
I don’t see where a lot of fans new or old are praising Dak. He gets torched by the fan base on every social media outlet. As for Troy Aikman, a lot young fans don’t think he was any good because he didn’t have great numbers and they hate him as an announcer. Even some older fans have turned against him and downgrade his playing career, because they hate him as an announcer. They believe because he played for the Cowboys he should be cheerleading the team during broadcasts. He’s been called a traitor for giving candid opinions about the Cowboys. Lol

No, Aikman was Clutch. Aikman was a thoroughbred. Dak is what he is, try hard guy that has great leadership skills. No one in the entire Universe picks Dak over Aikman if they were coming out at the same time. Aikman was a Ferrari, Dak is Audi.
Yep and aikman drove a rolls royce and dak has been driving anywhere from a pickup to a caddi.

Aikman had jimmy and dak had garret and MM.

I'll go one step farther than the OP.

Larry Allen was a better lineman than Terence Steele.

There, I said it. Suck on that haters.

As I said, can't really compare. Different era, different offense, different supporting cast, etc.

In terms of pure skill throwing the ball it's obviously Aikman.

Aikman did have limitations. Not an ad-lib QB. He would have quit if he had moron Dez or the route running blunders by the 2022 WR group.
Aikman more accurate, but dak throws a better deep ball.

Oh, just because Aikman has three rings and led his team to a 11-5 playoffs record?
Well, Dak has 2 career playoff wins, so there, Ha-ha!

in the 80s and 90s era. Dak would not even be a starter in the NFL. the guy got lucky jerry picked him and has a top OL and RB and WRs around hiim and an offense obsessed with yards production and offensive plays. The money was on offense most of the time and he failed to take the team to the CCG and lost way too many winnable games. Now he is in decline, but unfortunately the owner is sticking to his .

No kidding. As you can see, they haven't found anyone better in 30 years. And the management we've been stuck with doesn't seem to be all that concerned about it either. I can't remember them going after a top notch quarterback since Aikman.
