Good points, both. First step is recognizing the problem, and why it exists. IMO, they need to move away from the Quinn philosophy, and Jerry's too Get big and physical along the DL. Mazi came to this team claiming he liked to hit people. Well, beef him back up and tell him to start hitting people again. And gets hims some partners to play alongside him.

Watching some videos of the Packers I saw over and over, OL getting downfield to take out our 2nd level defenders. No one on the DL was forcing those linemen to stay in and block or keeping them from getting downfield. This is especially problematic when you have small guys playing LB.
Yea, our front office is blinded by some of our stars and don’t see the glaring weaknesses.

Its interesting the rate of busts for the first overall pick as regards QBs. Aikman and Elway I think trying to remember are the only absolute HOF's I can remember

EDIT
Peyton Manning as well
Stafford hasn't hit the same heights as those guys, but I don't think Detroit regrets that pick either. Especially in light of the rest of the 2009 draft class.

My hope this season revolved around a top 5 defense that could carry us.

Even overcome a pick-6 and poor QB performance. Not giving up 7 TD’s on their first 8 possessions. And most points in Cowboys playoff history.

Of course . We can dissect individual picks . I’m attempting to broad stroke the overall subject. And why franchises continue taking the risk.
But it’s also why they keep making mistakes. So let me ask you…. Would you face drafted Haskins, Mac or Dwayne?

That’s another issue with this defense. They are just like Dak. He doesn’t make big plays against strong defenses and they don’t make big plays against good offenses. Definitions of frauds.

But there’s the potential and possibility every draft to find another one.

In the mean time you do the best with what you have. But you should never stop looking or become content without more success.
Of course.
Just be warry of shiney pennies

Draft status means nothing as proof by Purdy…..Dak didn’t lose to the Packers because he was a 4th round pick lol.
It's a QB driven league today. The haves and have nots. You need pedigree to go against pedigree. Dak has never made throws like Jordon love did in that game.
And yeah Jordon Love beat KC and Detroit on Thanksgiving also. This defense didn't know what hit em. I guess they don't watch film but I had been watching Love all season because he was a backup on my fantasy team.
The rules have changed and there are no more intimidating defenses. Free Agency was supposed to balance out the league but it hasn't because of the rules created for offense.

Explain to me how Nick Foles a career back up is a SB champion?

I’m not going to get into specifics because it defuses the overall objective . If you miss then you continue swinging until you get a hit.

Exactly!
When everything is perfect, he looks like Joe Montana but when a team with a OK defense gets in his face, he looks worse than Ryan Leafs backup.
Honestly, I still think it comes down to coaching. Whatever happened in the locker room leading up to the wildcard game didn't have the team prepared for what was coming. Looking at Green Bay's record of 9-8, thinking they were actually a 9-8-level team was a mistake. They began the season as 2-5 then started going on a run thereafter. It really was an impressive run, considering how young they are as a team.

It is mindboggling how flat our team came out. They looked disorganized, almost like they'd been partying that week, which they had. Not that I'm a square. Just, if you're going to go out and party, make sure you're prepared...

Tom Brady won how many championships as a 6th round pick?

Obviously, more talented QBs tend to get drafted early. But when you are on the field and playing, a QB's draft status doesn't mean anything.
People trying to use tom Brady to justify Dak don't understand that Tom Brady was the exact opposite of Dak as a man.

Tom Brady took less money all his career and we know Dak considers himself a business/brand.

Tom Brady had the blls to thrive under severe criticism and ppl doubting him while Dak crumbles in high pressure situations.

Tom Brady went late in the draft because he was a mediocre talent, just like Dak. The difference is Tom Brady mentality is what made him the Goat.

Tom Brady was a bully kind of like Michael Jordan (last dance) and Dak is over here trying to give hugs and comprehension to his teammates lol

Terrible comparison.

I keep seeing some Dak supporters argue against moving on because "who can we get"

Other posters namedyoung QBs like Patrick Mahomes and Joe burrow and then the supporters say "good luck, those QBs are taken" not realizing the Chiefs had Alex Smith and the Bengals had Andy Dalton on their rosters when they drafted those QBs

How much evidence do they need?!!

Andy Dalton and Alex Smith is an exact comparison of were we are with Dak.
Andy Dalton and Alex Smith were successful QBs but they were not good enough just like Dak.
