Pretty much.

If your goal is to wins a Super Bowl I’d focus on the team and not overpaying QB’s.

If you pay Dak you’re basically forfeiting any chance at a title.
It's best to keep Dak happy. He encouraged violence against the refs, so who's to say he won't snap on the fans?

It's sad, but I kind of see it this way too. It seems like teams that get to the SB either have elite QBs, or QBs on rookie contracts. Although Jared Goff and the Lions almost got there and Goff was 13.6% of the cap.

Teams won't do it however. They will continue to overpay QBs because it's better to have winning seasons than start over looking for another QB. Playoffs is money to them.

I never heard of him. He sounds like the typical fast talking blowhard idiot we’re seeing more of on social media. His says the Cowboys aren’t serious about winning football games in the way we want them to be. The fans want the Cowboys to move on from Dak. That’s how the fans think the team will show they’re serious about winning football games.
Downey sounds like a few guys on the board. He has been a YouTuber for a while. Downey is one of those guys if the Cowboys don’t draft the player he wants the Cowboys get an F grade. Downey went crazy when the Cowboys drafted Micah and Tyler.

So every 2, 3 years you rebuild. Is that even possible.

So essentially if you don't have an elite QB you have no chance

Specially when you have a 12 win team a few years in a row. It’s pathetic that they won’t even do anything at that point. If you don’t follow the ups downs of that roller coaster, you’re beating yourself. It really is very tough to watch this front office do next to nothing year after year no matter the situation.
I really don't understand what you are complaining about

They've made the playoffs 12-5 three straight years and their barely under the cap, What do you want them to do?

The fan base including the blowhard in the video think you have to move on from Dak to show the Cowboys are serious about winning. How is moving on from a QB who won 12 games and was statistically better than any QB in the league last season AND who came in second for MVP going to make the Cowboys a better team? Unless you can replace Dak with a better QB, we’re not going to get better. Chances are we’ll get worse because who can the Cowboys get to QB the team in 2024 that’s as good or better than Dak AND who will sign at a reasonable price? Good luck with anyone coming up with a good answer for those questions. If you can’t come up with an intelligent response don’t bother responding.
Downey thinks they can do a fast rebuild like the Rams or Eagles recently but that is more the exception than the rule. He's part of the fan base that takes the Steinbrenner way of thinking, blow it all up every year and go through constant change and the result is complete instability.

I just hate how they never make changes.

They get the same results and just won’t do anything to change. It’s infuriating.
They brought in a new DC, Tyron is not being re-signed, Gallup being cut, is that staying the same?

He sounds like a typical fan.

He may be on the board. I never listen to these Stephen A/Skip Bayless wannabes who are looking for followers on social media.

Why do you have to rebuild?

Not paying for the QB who isn’t elite gives you more money to spend on the overall team.

What Dallas is doing is not working at all. Like at all.

you said, having an elite type QB is key. so if in 3 years you realize you don't, then you go drafting. perhaps you draft anyway and just switch. No rookie has ever won a superbowl. rarely a sophmore. so every 4 or 5 years, do you extend any of the existing players? do you go drafting, you get into this constant experimentation mode of looking for a QB. not saying don't. having a good/elite type QB makes it easier to make a run, but what if you have an Allen or Herbert or Lawrence type? do you give up after 3,4 years? do you not extend Purdy since you went to CCG and a superbowl? do you cut a Lamar Jackson, who is 2-4 in the playoffs. one loss less than Dak. Would you not extend Hurts?

and I disagree on Money. Money hasn't been the issue. Dak's cap hit over the past three years has be 26, 19, 17. less than the 10% threshold many around here throw around. Not saying Dak is good/bad or worth it or not. just that the cap is easily manipulated and at some point everyone pays the price and takes dead cap money and actually rebuilds.

I agree, what Dallas is doing isn't working. when the GM puts a couple of 210 lb players at LB. when the DL sucks. when we get a back up having to play starting RB, when we hand out large contracts to two injured players. when he made the culture into a zoo. lacking focus on winning and football. I doubt if we had Mahomes, we would win anything. he would get sucked into the frey. there is no Jesus QB who is going to come with the holy water and save the cowboys.

Clearly this guy does not get it. We absolutely crushed it last year. Massive pay raises all around.

"You can't do nothing"
Sure they can. Puts the ball in Dak's court. If he's smart, he'll demand a trade instead of put a year of bad tape out.
Draft a QB. Let him compete with Lance. If Lance wins, use his legs, which are effective.
Wouldn't that be a more interesting season than watching Lame Duck Dak lose on a cap depleted team?
There’s no possible Dak trade. Never going to happen with his contract situation.

So yes, the guy in the OP is correct. Going into this season unwilling to commit to either your HC or QB while also not having any cap flexibility to actually improve the team is incredibly dumb. If you don’t trust them then just rip the band-aid off and start the rebuild. The plan seems to be to cross our fingers and hope a miracle happens this season

SJ appears to actually be more incompetent than his father. Getting JJ out of the way only brings SJ more to the forefront.

We appear to be generations away from any real daylight.

I guess we lean on the old adage “even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and then” to try and find a little hope— but man, when it comes to trying to find any kind of hope for playoff success— we are in a really, really dark hole
I agree, people around the leauge and fans actually have some sort of respect for Jerry. SJ has never earned that type of respect. He's more like Mark Davis, just a goofball that got lucky to be the fastest swimmer.

 Man we have some pathetic fans on this site. I shouldn't even call y'all fans.
That's a matter of opinion. I could say the same thing about blue Koolaid drinkers that are perfectly fine with "business as usual", winning be damned (i.e., real winning deep playoff runs, remember those?).

But I am also a Van Halen fan so there's that!

Jerry has been waiting almost 30 years for someone to say he’s a genius with his “strategy” in regards to winning!!

Guess he’ll be waiting ANOTHER year for it…

Or maybe we don’t need anything. They’ll be able to go into the draft and get BPA if they don’t sign any FAs lol…and HOARDE the money of course. They LOVE a fat wad of cash
