The old man is doing what many around here wanted him to do, blow it up. Now that he's doing it, many of those same fans are upset that he is.
They need to blow it up by getting rid of Dak.. but before we do that, we need to watch him “carry the roster” for plenty of laughs this year…

Seems the old man has given up on this team.
More changes are on their way so buckle up..............
That's it IMO... you keep guys like Tyron around for insurance when you're contending, otherwise he's a progress stopper.

Kinda sad when a fan wishes bad for their own team and then laughs at them when it happens. But, that's just my opinion. As long as you're entertained.

Tyron made 2nd Team All Pro and went to the Jets for a 1year 6.5mil contract.

He only missed one game in the 2nd half of the season, and played the last 3 games. He's not injured and is playing great.

We've spent almost that much for backup swing Ts in the past. As a percentage of cap, we might have spent more.

We stuck with Tyron coming off inferior play and more injuries for much more money than 6.5mil.

Something has changed. I would have expected them to jump at that price.

If we would have signed him, the take would be they are stupid and he always gets hurt.

This move makes sense if you're going to go into a rebuild, but if you're bringing it back and going "all in" (what ever that means today) to try and win it all it's kind of a head scratcher to create more holes to fill with few draft picks.

That's what they claim in here. It doesn't matter what they do.
It’s what they don’t do. You were completely wrong about what they would accomplish in FA. It’s actually a joke at this point. Apparently we’re rebooting for 25 while still contemplating paying the QB an alarming deal. Talk about a total disaster. I don’t even think you know what you’re defending anymore cause nothing good is happening here. 2024 is a clown show and it only took less than a week.

I said they would sign a linebacker, a running back, and a defensive tackle. I'll stick with that.

You have to think Dallas knows more about Tyron than anyone. He could not practice all year. He is a walking injury waiting to happen.

If they believe Bass and Hoffman are ready to step up, then we have wait and see.

They also know that they are likely drafting a good olineman in the 1st round.

The only thing that changed is that they drafted his replacement and like what they saw out of a rookie OT and rookie LG. The Cowboys moved on from an aging player whose injury issues are only going to get worse because they had been preparing for this moment.

I think we have a tendency to make more of these things than what they are ... business as usual under the philosophy that the Joneses adopted more than 10 years ago. It was never going to be about how big the offer for Tyron was going to be. The Cowboys didn't even make an offer because they were prepared to move on with cheaper, healthier players.

I’d rather have Tyron smith for 13 games playing at an all pro level, then have to replace 2 offensive lineman in the same year for a team that’s supposedly competing for a championship. That’s my preference. I also think it’s ridiculous to move Tyler smith now after he has played so damn good at his position.

Jpj is going to be gone. Regardless saying Tyron is only a back up is silly
I won't be surprised if we draft Frazier at 24 and say he was the player we were targeting all along. That would follow the pattern of the last two drafts where we "overdrafted" Tyler Smith and Mazi Smith.

I have not seen the bonus break down. $6.5M sounds very reasonable, but I have not seen the bonus breakdown up to $20M. I am sure a lot of it is tied to playing time.

Maybe a good portion of it is retainable.

Example. $400K per game played.

That belt is much tighter than usual and they’re choosing not to rework anyone to free up space. If they had the money.. every single Cowboy would’ve been back. Tyron, Pollard, Biadiscz, Gallimore. It’s desperate times when they can’t keep their own FAs.
I just think the situations have to be considered. What the Joneses have shown is that they will pay top dollar for their own free agents, if they believe their own free agents are worth top dollar at that time. They will cut (or trade) players they think are not living up to their contracts. And they will not pay much to bring in any outside free agents. This has been their philosophy for years now and they are sticking to it.

With Tyron, they drafted his replacement and seemed to be pleased with what Bass, in particular, showed at guard, so they moved on from an older player with injury issues.

With Pollard, Biadasz, Gallimore, etc., I don't think they felt their level of play equaled what they would get paid (kind of like Byron Jones when he became a free agent, and there are other examples as well).

I don't think there were a lot of players they wanted to keep this time. I will be surprised if they don't replace a few more of those players with cheap free agents. I expect a running back at the least, possibly a third receiver candidate, possibly a center (although I think they see Hoffman as the placeholder), probably a DT (depending on how they view Golston and Fehoko), possibly a DE (depending on how they view Golston and Fehoko).

Maybe they have learned from their mistakes. Let their free agents test the market, then match, beat it or let them walk.

Before we were most likely over paying everyone. Now we will know their true market, but will risks losing some players this way.

I think GM Jeruh thought/hoped Tyron would give us the option to match or beat it and he did not. Stephen pissed him off. Why was GM Jeruh not in the meeting to begin with?

Maybe, but they probably can trade back a little and get him or they can draft the Georgia or Wisconsin center in the 3rd round.
