TWICE.

TWICE.

TWICE.
lawrence duped Jerry more than twice. he ended up getting paid the most guaranteed money for 7 years when they kept redoing his contract and converting it to guaranteed money and bonuses, producing 6 sacks a year.

I think Club foot smith duped Jerry once, so you are right on that one, but man did he fleece Jerry. 6 year, 68M contract back in 2019. that's the worst contract extension ever in cowboys history

Romo was handed two contracts. pretty significant ones. and his results were 2-4 in the playoffs.

so yeah, jerry got fleeced a few times in his GMing career.

The defense was bad - but the defense also had the disadvantage of having a lot of key guys injured or playing hurt. The LB's were so decimated that we were rolling with Safeties as a means to mask the problem. In blame the front office for not actually getting the defense any help.

Dak playing like crap is basically now a given. 3 of his last 4 playoff games he has played like dog crap with the lone exception coming against Tampa.
so the defense sucked....injuries or not, the defense wasn't that good.

Go ahead and resign him so 12 years in to his tenure sites like this can continue with the, “If he only had a defense, they don’t have a running game, Stephen won’t surround him with talent, blah, blah, blah”.

This turd has been blessed by a higher power to be here this long. Enough is enough. Time to shake hands and part ways for all concerned.

Hit the reset, let’s go 5-12 and move on from there.

We need more Dak threads, not.
there are 1847 Dak threads, with 14372 pages and 182927 comments.

not enough. we need more.
we need one that talks about why Jerry has leverage and why we think this is his last year. we haven't had any of those for...what? at least 45 minutes

my recommendation is to have a list of comments you can select from a list and just click on your comment of choosing. I mean has there been anything new said in the past 2 years?

which other teams had their QB that was good and then drafted another QB and succeeded. Chiefs. one can argue for one year for GB. outside of Mahomes and KC can't think of any other team having succeeded.
Don't get me wrong, I think Dak is an above-average QB who folds under pressure. That being said, there's no guarantee that the Cowboys will be successful if they move on from Dak. But, they haven't won anything major with him behind center, so why not go in a different direction? My point is, if the Cowboys are going to just let Dak walk, they should at least try to get something for him and have a plan in place for when it happens. My other point is, I don't believe his asking price is going to be conducive to putting a SB team around him. That's just my opinion. Your opinion may be different.

Now, to answer your question. The Niners brought in Young while they still had Montana. (Even though that was a trade) The Packers brought in Rodgers while still having Favre. The Patriots drafted Brady while they still had Bledsoe. The Ravens brought in Jackson while they still had Flacco. Those are just a couple off the top of my head. But, once again, there are no guarantees in football.

First this is a solid comment in every way...I mean we are getting there in year 29, this FO's way of team building doesnt work...no one knows if these players are worth it because the FO has a PROVEN track record of not building a team..

Just curious........what would you do if he gets resigned? (LOL) Can you handle that???
I can't handle that nightmare, another 5 years of getting a beatdown when it counts would suck bigly. I might have to defect to the Texans until Dak is gone.

I like how with Dak you say "but it's a team game!". And with Romo well...looks like it's HIS FAULT for 2-4 play-offs.

And we brought in Lance good observation bud.
Who will be taking Dakstrash's job when he departs!

His honeymoon in Vegas won't last long. Raiders fans are almost as angry and restless as Cowboys fans right now over the prolonged lack of success.
The new Raiders GM + HC have a plan...and it does not include acquiring Prescott to be their quarterback for the Cowboys 2024 season.

Yeah, I don't think Lance is the answer. I hope he works out, but I'm not holding out hope. I saw the level of competition he lost out to in San Fran. Either way, barring a last-minute trade that Dak agrees to, or a serious injury, Dak will be the QB for the Cowboys this next season. After that, who knows what will happen. I don't put anything past this front office.
