That's the reason he was going to be signed; Jerry said as much.

"Doing some things on the offensive line that I think will help our depth"

Enough crying about a backup lineman. He was gonna be brought in here because we can't fully trust Bernadeau to stay healthy and the team needs an established backup interior lineman (apparently not Arkin or Cook). And Livings with his knee issues is ostensibly out of the equation.

People get on Mckenzy for the bad plays he had at the start of the year but over the last 8 games of the season he was a better player than Moore. Moore was not gonna come in and beat him out if healthy.

Signing a starter helps your depth too man. Ever positive move helps depth, he was going to be a starter

Wow. No, he would have been the best guard on the team if was in last year's form.

This ain't the earl 90s Cowboys around here.

That's a heckuva stretch. Moore would have started day one, with Arkin and Bern as backups, hence the move would have improved our depth.

Did you really just say that Berny was better than Moore at some point last year? You must have ONE HELL of a drug dealer on speed dial. Perhaps the depth would've been better by making A CAREER BACKUP UNTIL HE CAME TO DALLAS a backup yet again and that's why they were looking at Moore and Waters.

What was last year's form? Have you watched the way he played last year? Cause I have.

I got some time on my hands. We can turn on the all 22 from any games you want from Moore last year and then compare his play to Bernadeaus. People remember Bernadeau give up some sacks to Melton but Moore had a game where he gave up a couple of sacks to JJ Watts too.

lol he would not have been a backup.

Correct. When Jones stated to "help our depth", that does not mean you sign a 30-something to a two million per deal. He meant having Bernadeau as a reserve would have helped the depth.

J.J. Watt? You mean the best defensive lineman in the NFL? That J.J. Watt?

$2million contract suggests he was gonna start

Nice try. Both Livings and Bernadeau make more money than him. So with your logic, he was gonna replace Leary in the pecking order and be the 3rd in the depth.

2 million dollars says we're trying to acquire a quality backup. Cook was making more money than Costa at the start of last year but that doesn't mean he would've started if Costa was healthy.

Come on now, we're not going to sign an aging, but solid guard for a $2M one year deal just to ride the pine. He would start for sure.

No, that's not what I said. I'm saying there were SEVERAL POINTS last year with Mack was better than Moore. But I have no reason to believe you know what you're talking about when you talk about the play of these 2 linemen so we'll leave it at that.

What ever you need to tell your self to feel better about it

Watching the interview...

Archer: Is Brian Waters in your guy's plans at all?

Jerry: Stay tuned.

Then he said "give us an hour..." referring to Moore obviously but maybe they have already touched base with Waters?

We're paying Phil Costa $1.35M and Ryan Cook $1.1M to be backups. Livings is going to earn more than that to be a backup.

People are acting like we gave this guy $4M or something. He would've competed for that RG job and Mckenzy woulda beat him out.
