I'm hoping that Marinelli can work his magic with him as well because as thin as our dline is we need all the help we can get.

If you can't give a football related explanation then why even post? If we could get the same production from someone much cheaper, then we need to think about that.

You do not get HOF production from someone much cheaper is his point I believe. You do understand that HOF production (or even pro bowl production) is not that common, right?

Please name the many UNC players.

They actually put out some damn good NFL talent for an average college team:
Jonathan Cooper
Giovani Bernard
Quinton Coples
Robert Quinn
Bruce Carter
Greg Little
Da'Norris Searcy
Cam Thomas
Hakeem Nicks
Julius Peppers

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them.

questionable work ethic/maturity coming out of UNC.

That's painting it with a pretty broad brush. There have been plenty of good players that come out of UNC and don't fit either of those categories.

Wow.
The fact remains we could save money and replace him and still get the production out of coach marinelli's scheme. Ala George selvie.
And I don't think moving ware for 2nd or 3rd In the offseason would be a bad idea. You don't have to like it... Geez

I get where you're going with this, but nobody in their right mind is going to give us a 2nd or 3rd for a declining DE/OLB with that kind of salary.

It's the fact that you put Selvie in the same category as DeMarcus Ware that has everyone laughing at you.

Dogpile if you want to. My point has been that if we can save money by replacing ware and still get the production, then we need to explore that.

Kinda what I was looking for.

I'm a UNC guy but Marvin was a knuckle head in school and never lived up to being the number one hs recruit.

What about Sam Montgomery? He was rated as a 1st-2nd rd talent with a questionable attitude that got him picked in the 3rd in this years draft. He was cut today by the Texans for smoking a cigar. Jeez! Any chance we bring him in?

My Giants fan friends told me he was more into the football celeb life than football. Knock on him was that he was lazy and not motivated.

I just hope he doesn't bring that bad attitude and infect the blue collar mentality of this "no name" DLine.

his situation in Dallas will be different as will expectations. Dallas probably just looking for him to give starters a breather. I also doubt he is looking to be football celeb at this stage...he probably just has bills to pay.

Maybe he can play with Marinelli and Lett in the picture. He'll also have to buy into the attitude of the rest of the DL.

Please tell me you don't actually believe that.

From what I recall pulled the daily double at UNC by getting hurt and kicked off the squad. If this is anything more than a stop gap, I'll be shocked.
