Spears didn't give any insights about what happens in the locker room. And at no time did I say I don't think Jerry isn't deeply involved. He obviously is. Spears' interview shouldn't be enough to make or break that opinion for anyone.

And on half a tangent, some of the JJ bashers on this site tend to look at things in a perspective that's far too black and white. To some, if you don't think he's the AntiChrist, you're an idiot. Jerry makes mistakes, no doubt about it, but to solely blame him for everything thats wrong with the franchise - from drafting to blown coverages to game mismanagement - is a gross overexaggeration.

All GMs make mistakes, such as a bad draft pick or fa signing but being the face of the franchise, not allowing the hc to form the team in his image (ala Harbaughs), and undermining the coaching staff's authority are everything that's wrong with this franchise. It's like the examples some on here gave about overbearing, micromanaging bosses, it bad enough to have to look over your shoulder every minute and have them undermine you authority but then you get blamed for the decisions they made.

One case where JG was going to release someone, and he went to Jerry and got permission to stay? I don't get this whole "undermining authority" thing. Are people seriously insinuating that if they don't like what JG is doing, they just go to Jerry lol? That's ridiculous. And if true, its more indicative of how pathetic the players are than anything else.

Listening to sports radio here in Oklahoma City, I heard a Cleveland beat writer talk about how the new owner of the Browns was going to be more involved in personnel this year. Is involvement by owners widespread?

I seem to recall Wade wanting to increase some fines for players who either broke team rules or did not meet weigh in goals. He wanted them increased, the front office said no.

I think that is a fair example.

How many other teams have the owner who is also the GM?

Al Davis is gone and I think Lewis with the Bengals made sure the team owner gave him more control over personell before resigning the last time.

To be fair though the Titans Owner basically told Fisher to put young back n as starter a few years ago.

There are no surprises here. Jerry was and is the problem with the Cowboys. Why in the Hell do we remain fans? I am starting to question why and should I remain a fan of the Cowboys with the Jones family in charge. I am not a fan of 8-8 entertainment.

I heard some rumors that in SF Jim Harbaugh and his GM are not on the best of terms, to the point where they really don't like talking to each other or seeing each other. There seems to be some power grab going on there. And lots of disgreement about players and stuff. When GMs and head coaches don't agree, who makes the call? Is the SF GM wrong for not 'allowing the hc to form the team in his image?'

I don't think even Bellicek has carte blanc.
