I'm not convinced you mean it. He had a bad game and he will have another bad game. He will have good games and great games.

While I don't ever want to see my QB throw into double coverage I do love how so many fans yell at Romo to force the ball to Dez so often. Now when he does he is awful.

The truth is Tony is not as good or bad as he seems at times. If he plays bus driver he takes sacks and people get upset. If he plays aggressive mistakes will happen and people get upset.

He knows his defense isn't good and that fact makes him feel that he needs to do it all. So mistakes will keep coming.

I believe Romo is in a situation where he cannot win. None of this makes a bad game better but my support for him is still as strong as ever.

I do mean it. I've never been the guy that yells throw to ANY receiver in double coverage. Sure, force it to Dez in 1 on 1, but never double coverage. Don't care if he has a chance to make the play. I don't like the risk. This was in consideration of DOUBLE coverage, not triple. Which was thrown twice. Picks both times. This wasn't a bad game. This was a game that made me question why we paid him. He was clearly seeing triple coverage and threw it anyway. That isn't "I just didn't have enough on the ball"

That's LOOKING at a bad play develop in front of your face with oline giving you time and going "....hmmmm.....**** it."

So we got "Bad Romo" week 1. Considering the current trend of 8-8 seasons, that means we still have a lot of "Good Romo" to look forward to this season. With the coming 2 opponents being more beatable, I'm thinking we are more likely to see "Good Romo" show up for the next 2 games. Plus the Boys seem to be better for some reason, on the road. I'm all for replacing Romo if we had a better option but I'm not for benching him just to bench him. Orton is gone and we didn't draft "Johnny Football" so we are stuck with Tony. Weeden is not a suitable replacement so please keep that thought out of the discussion.

What's more stupid - drafting Johnny Manziel in the first round, or giving a 34-year-old Tony Romo with a bad back $100 million?

Romo did not have a back issue when he signed his contract. Dude, he had a bad game. Dwell not.

Off tipped passes to wide open receivers. If you can't see the difference between this and randomly chucking it up off your back foot to Witten in triple coverage in the end zone, you should probably just quit watching football.

Bad games happen. Replacing Romo because he had a bad game is ridiculous.

All I saw was Romo looking indecisive and making poor reads. People can guess on the reason, myself I don't care about the reason. I expect him to be able to make the quick reads and get the ball there. Based on the press conference after the game by Romo he seems to expect that as well.

Was replacing Bledsoe after one bad game ridiculous ???

It's time ...

Bledsoe was not replaced after the 1st game of the season nor is Dallas going to replace Romo after the 1st game of the season.

so lets see that 101 ints

an 23 fumbles lost

in 10 years

Plus he can not throw the deep ball any more plus no zip on it either - that one to Harris was Harris's doing

the back must be worse than we know

YES HE DOES LOOK LIKE 34 YEAR OLD OLD MAN

Actually that's only 12 turnovers a year. Completely acceptable in the grand scheme of things. It's more <when> they have occurred with Tony Romo.

I can chalk that up to being rusty. Say what you will about Romo he IS a fighter and I have confidence he can knock off any rust and improve there. What worries me about Romo however is something several have noticed the past few seasons and I noticed yesterday, he has no punch on his deep throws. It seems everything comes up short.

So my worry with Tony is that he has become used up.

This concerns me more than anything.....

On the multiple heaves down field into dbl/triple coverage. He did it 3 times that I saw, literally just threw it up for grabs. Reminds me of Aikman late in his career.....

That is not sound decision making..... Not even if it is the 1st game! I know everyone over reacts, including myself, but those heaves scare the Bee geez out of me-where the hell was his thought process.

Feel free the rematch the game.... I am not mistaken. Harris did catch one, but come on folks, this should scare even the most Romo proponents

The throws in the endzone were just dumb.

I think the heaves downfield were just out of desperation when he had already sunk us.

I blame a lot of this on Demarco Murray though. He set the entire tone of the game and completely changed how the entire team played imo.

I have always defended Romo and I still think he is a Top 15 QB in this league. However, I think it is time to start looking toward the future. We need to draft a QB next year. Romo's not getting any younger and age has not increased his wisdom. He played like a freaking rookie yesterday. We need to go into next year's draft looking for a QB first and then defense. We will probably have a Top 5 pick in the draft so my ultimate prize would be coming out of the draft with Marcus Mariota as our new QB.

This may be part of it but Tony should have played smarter football. He knows it, the coaches know it, and the team knows it.

Every time he has a bad game he tells the media that he will take a look at the tape and correct his mistakes. It sounds good but he will never be able to change his mentality. This is who he is. He will always take risks to win and he will always try to make plays where none may exist. This team lives or dies by Tony Room's decision-making ability (and arm).

Bottom line is I will always take this version of Tony Romo because he will have more good days than bad. The key is to improve the talent around him so his bad days are minimized. The improved o-line and running game could be a start.

In the end, Tony deserves a pass. He did not hold himself out of practices so, if he was not prepared to start, the responsibility for his lack of preparedness against SF falls mainly on the coaching staff.

Myself, I don't need a sounding board....poor game by Tony Romo. And unfortunate fumble by Murray...but I saw some real football at other times as well.

Last year was pretty much as safe as he has ever played and he only had 10 INTs the entire season. It's not like this game came in 2008 after he was just slinging it all over the field in 2007. He has progressively gotten safer with the football and made fewer poor decisions. That's why the game was more likely an anomaly than anything else.

I don't think you can give him a pass, so to speak, the loss is still largely on him, and he knows that. What you don't do is assume that he is done being a good quarterback.
