Well, since we are on the subject of tapping out...

I LOVE the acquisition of Ro McClain
I LOVE what he has shown when he has played

Is anyone else concerned about the number of practices the guy misses and as soon as he plays a whole game it seems that he is hurt? Concerns unwarranted?

It's to be expected after a two-year football hiatus. Body has to acclimate, and they probably put a little bit too much on his plate, in the way of reps, the first two weeks.

Some people have said that Jerry coddles players. This is mostly true but he has definitely called players out.

He called out Jenkins, Ware, Bennett, Ratliff, Barber...

And what's the connecting thread between all those guys (except Ware)?

I've been a Mo supporter but this just tells me he is weak minded not stupid and that's why all the little injuries are always bothering him. Why don't you accept the challenge and win your job back
Maybe he is weak minded and stupid.

Jerry was absolutely wrong. This may be the worst thing he has ever said/done. You just don't come out like that as an owner. Not during the season. not before a big game. Not ever.

That said, Mo really shot himself in the foot. He had a chance to show he was willing to work and get better. Now it's all just lip service. I would almost guarantee another "injury" for him now.

Doesnt even crack the top 10.

1. He's the owner, not the coach. He needs to keep his mouth shut about such things.
2. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Blabbing to the media like he did is absolutely the wrong way. You do it behind closed doors and move on. Jerry insulted the guy to the national media. That is NEVER the right way to handle it. Not even the hardest hard-nosed coaches in the NFL would have played it like that.

1. Correct. He's the owner that has watched pick #6 dog it like a UDFA for almost two and a half years. I applaud his honesty. He held it in long enough.

2. Obviously the other way wasn't working. Let's see how the primadonna garbage player embraces this reality. Early signs aren't encouraging.

Also, my college coach would have punted his *** for doing this. My coach had zero time for any "pre-Madonnas" and would throw a saddle on a guy with that attitude and ride him.

Maybe your coach would have (you would know, not me). I had coaches that seemed to know which buttons to push, and they rode certain guys, and encouraged others, (or worse yet), went silent. When its really bad is when they stop caring.

So what actually changed? Is Mo out of the nickel? I'm pretty sure Scandrick was starting over him already.

I'm sure he was extra upset with the saints coming in and being from the area.

I don't disagree but after coaching kids for 20 plus years I have learned the ones that are hard on themselves don't need any help
making it harder. Especially from a guy who has failed so miserably for almost 20 years at his job. Mo said stuff about himself that most guys won't, then Jerry took it to another level AFTER JG had his say. But that's what jerry does I guess to make himself feel better about his own failures.

I agree that most are hard on themselves.

But there's a mis-fire in this kid's world.

I would have probably given him the opportunity to build off the confidence of the game sealing pick, but its hard to disagree with the move.

My coach always stressed team through thick and thin. His reasoning was that with the game on the line you wanted guys that were physically and mentally tough and last but not least, dependable. He would have no patience for a guy when the time gets tough he turns his back on the team and runs. You want guys that have the team first and have each others back through thick or thin.

Its disrespectful. Period. Benching the guy is enough.

Don't want to play? Moore and Patmon... come on down!

I'm sorry but I just have very little patience or this sort of thing. The team could get along fine without you.

Having said that, I'm sure he'll come back and make up.

Exactly! You get benched, you work hard, you fight back, you prove you deserve your job back. YOU DON'T POUT AND RUN OUT. I don't care what Jerry said, it's irrelevant. Put your big boy pants on and prove folks wrong. Man up!!!

Then the blame should be even heavier on the GM and front office. They didn't do their due diligence.

They didn't do anything pre-draft at all. They made the calls to Les Miles afterwards and then proceeded to tell everyone that he was the second highest rated player on the board.

Alright alright, I got a little carried away.

The owner openly disrespecting players just doesn't jive with me. He may have sucked, but he has done nothing disrespectful or showed a bad character. He deserves to be demoted, no doubt. He doesn't deserve to be disrespected like that.
