Broaddus made a good point on twitter. Cole Beasley quit. Team welcomed him back and now he's a fan favorite.

I'm not suggesting Mo will ever be a fan favorite, but it would be very presumptuous and emotionally reactive to think they're going to release him outright.

Two VERY different backgrounds. Beasley probably quit because he wasn't sure he actually had a future in the NFL. No comparison to a top 6 draft pick.

One was in training camp, not in the middle of the week before playing a good opponent in the first quarter of the season with your first chance to win three games in a row for the first time in recent memory. I also think Beasley had personal issues he was dealing with, not reacting like a petulant child because he cannot deal with failure and embarrassment. Hardly a great point other than they both walked off the practice field.

Un real. Way to build confidence in the guy jurrha.

I think its about dang time...perhaps he will wake up tomorrow and decide it's time to work on his craft...The guy is horrible, and we would be better with Leary playing DB...

God point about Beasley. I forgot all about him quitting but it was for a much different reason IIRC. And Beasley can play, Claiborne can't.:)

What reason did he have for quitting? That his heart wasn't in it? Lol that he thought he didn't have a chance of making the team? Lol

I'm just glad to see that Jerry finally got with the program about Mo.

Many here knew he wasn't the dominate shut down corner that the 6th pick warranted when he was picked. There are a 1000 guys just like him in the league and after Sunday, it's so blatantly obvious how bad he is that I don't think even Jerry could keep his mouth shut about it.

I know it hasn't been clarified yet, but it would be odd if Claiborne got mad because OScan took his starting spot, since 3 CBs are pretty much starters on this team in this day and age anyway. The only thing I can think of is if he was told that Moore is taking his 3rd CB spot, or if they really think he's a liability (teams pretty much know he can't tackle due to his shoulder), that Patmon gets in while he rests his injury. There has to be more to the story

I'm pointing out the fact the guy was very hard core about quitters and such, but folks will embrace Beasley who also quit.

The comparison being made is that the team embraced his return and I see them doing the same with Mo.

Exactly.

Also, Beasley didn't stink it up on the field like Claiborne has either.

Honestly I don't know the details of Beasley quitting. But I am assuming (at my very great peril) it wasn't because he thought he deserved a starting spot and stormed out in a huff because he no longer had one.

A quitter is more like what Claiborne does when he does not like the harsh truth. Beasley was dealing with personal issues. I view them completely different, so should anyone who understands the distinct difference between the two cases.

If they "embrace" his return, the organization is just as weak willed as he is for walking out the door.

He quit because he said his heart wasn't in it.

For clarity, I'm not trying to throw Base under the bus. When Bease quit, there were a whole lot of good riddance. I just wanted to point out that the team isn't going to react like fans do.

Sounds like Mo went AWOL at practice. That's a big deal.

Agreed we can't possibly know how the team will react, I think it will depend on Mo's rep in the clubhouse.

But I still believe that walking out on a team practice because you are told you are not being given a starting position you feel you are entitled to is a different animal than Beasley, or even RMcClain, when your head is not wrapped around committing to football at that particular time.
