He and Stink were asked the question about who is more important for the Cowboys to sign between DeMarco and Dez. Golic paused, said thats a tough one but the Cowboys are who they are because of the run game so he'd go with DeMarco. Stink said he'd go with Dez because Dez is the best receiver in the NFL and just a physical freak.

Without Dez, there is no DeMarco.

I don't know about that. Seems to me with a power running game like the Cowboys you have any number of good WRs who could be 1200 yard receivers in the Cowboy's offense.

Think guys like DeAndre Hopkins (Texans), Golden Tate, etc

Not all of them could be the red-zone threat Dez are, but between the 20s I'm pretty sure they'd be nearly as effective.

I will not say 1 is more important no more than I would have said Emmitt was more important than Irvin. I think Dallas has done a lot to get this new group of triplets in place and I think Jerry will do what he can to see they remain.

Dez is the priority. It comes as no shock that Murray's only good year is when we Fix the O-Line. Whereas Dez has always been good.

Dez keeps defenses honest. Bigger impact.

He also doesn't cause the only turnover in a win or go home situation.

First of all, why are you listening to Colic? Second of all, why are you listening to Colic?

The man should be the poster boy for trauma-induced brain malfunction.

Teams aren't going to devote 2 guys on every play to Golden Tate. It's a lot harder to put 8 in the box when you only have 9 to work with.

My working theory is that the Cowboys OL and running game was so good this year (and will be even better next year) that the idea that you need a super elite WR pulling double-coverage isn't required.

In fact, shouldn't it be the other way around? The power running game is setting up play-action shots down the field for WRs? Isn't that the way this usually works?
