Adrian Peterson on his future in Minnesota

AD wants to play here no doubt. Problem is, by the time he is released by Minny we may have already locked up Murray long term.

If he wants to play for 2M or under I'll take him. Otherwise I'm adding every resource imaginable to our defensive line and drafting a back.

LOL, 2M? I dont think any RB will play for that unless its a draft pick and they dont have a choice

AP appears very stubborn, throughout this episode with his child and even now. I doubt he resigns with Minnesota if he has his way. But that's the problem. The ball is totally in the Vikings' court.

If the Vikes really want to pay a RB that doesn't want to be there 13 million dollars, then yeah, the ball is definitely in their court because I doubt he's taking a paycut to be there.

If he's released I'd probably put Dallas as the frontrunner for his services. He's an East TX guy, probably grew up a Cowboys fan, and supposedly is BFF's with Jerry.

Do the Vikes want to pay him or not? That's the question.

So if AP is signed here, before the ink is dry on his release papers. Does the tampering rumors start...It's like Viagra for Ed Werder, He would be all over that faster than a pig will smile in slop.

I don't think any tampering issues will arise because, apparently, the NFL has already looked into it. Rumor has it that Jerry did Goodell and the NFL a favor by signing Michael Sam to their practice squad, causing Goodell to drop any investigation into tampering. Don't know if that's true or not, but I don't think anything will come from this if the Vikings, indeed, allow AP to walk, and he ends up a Cowboy.

Yes you are right it has. But Peterson spoke so I figured posting his words was appropriate, sorry

No need to apologize. I'm glad you posted it. It's the latest in the development, and I think AP's comments bring another twist to this story.

In no way did I mean to say any thing bad about posting this. not at all. Just making comment to Jazz. This time of year any news is news.

Oh, it's entirely relevant. This is just about exactly how I expected Peterson would feel. Unfortunate decision to let it get public though.

Now we see if Minny blinks. I still think that won't pay that full contract.

And of course, there's no way of knowing where he ends up playing next season. It'll be really fun to see what happens if he and Murray are available at the same time. The team seems a lot more committed to Murray than I'd have thought here early in the offseason.

Don't apologize. There are a lot of us who do find this subject interesting and want to talk about it.

Those that don't, need not waste their time commenting.

I can't imagine not being intrigued by the best player at a position of need with a vocal love of Texas possibly coming available while we're in the market. It makes the whole Murray debate that much more interesting.

Interesting piece of information...first I have heard of this matter....AP wanting out of MINN and potentially wearing the silver n blue...what a story this will make!

Personally I think him bringing up Texas is a big deal. I mean, why even bring it up? To me thats saying, Jerry please save me

I agree. And I don't see it as any slight to Murray. I would be fine with Murray coming back for a team friendly price tag. I also wouldn't want to break the bank for Peterson. It's a case of being happy with either player at running back.

Heck, if you told me we could draft Todd Gurley I'd be happy with that too!
