Why are people acting like getting Lee back is a "bonus"?

I give him a "mulligan" on the ACL tear because it was an old injury that wasn't properly taken care of.

I think he comes back and plays most of the season at a near All-Pro level.
I'm pretty sure he tore the right ACL at Penn State and the left one here, unless you are talking about some other injury.

The left one was partially torn in college also and not taken care of properly making it weak so it was bound to fully tear eventually.

He's missed time with a dislocated wrist, neck strain, and two ACL injuries the last one with a mild meniscal injury. He tore a ACL in college as well although I can't tell is one of those is a total of two or a total of three knee injuries.

So he's missed some time.

I've gone into detail the mechanisms of injury for these and they are plain physics. There is no 'propensity' for these injuries to be weak connective tissue in the very vast human population playing NFL football.

If you wish to say he's snakebit then I'll agree it appears that way.

There is no evidence I know of that suggests he has subpar repairs of his injuries. And he does play at perhaps the worst injury plagued position in the NFL.

Did we have a player not dinged up some last year at LBer? Wilber?? Hitchens??

You know I am no doctor, not smart enough for that. Guys with his injury history usually don't last long with the NFL.

I've said multiple times "Any production from Lee will be a bonus" because I fully expect him to miss the entire season due to injury so any production from him would be something positive that was not expected (a bonus).

I GUESS SOME PEOPLE MYSELF INCLUDED THINK THAT LEE CAN HAVE A COMPLETE AND ALL PRO SEASON THIS COMING YEAR, AND BE PART OF THE COWBOYS WINNING THE SUPER BOWL IN 2016

The ACL was tough, but what about the block by our future All Pro Guard. ;)

The repair of an ACL these days generally makes a joint more stable. Unless there is a concomitant injury esp a severe MCL injury or nerve damage then they are not that concerning. I don't like the meniscal injury long term IF it is severe enough to create arthritis later in the next few years.

The wrist dislocation is not generally a recurring injury and neither is a neck strain.

If he has another IR injury then I'll join the dark side.
