Our d doesn't get better if we have to give up a 1st, a starting corner (which Minny wants) and other picks.

Well I have to disagree Jim, look how much the defense improved last year with Murray toting the rock. Hypothetically speaking if IF the team brings in AD they are pretty much set on offense. I agree with Big dog those great teams not only had great RBs but they had great defenses. That first pick could be a guy like Bryon Jones or Edwards Jr or any of the top players on defense. Whomever is there and whomever is better. This team has already begun addressing the defensive side of the ball. Hardy, RoMac, Brink, Gachkar, and now there is speculation the team is interested in Stevie Brown. I don't get the group of you that continue to argue the point on bringing AD in. I really don't get it. He improves this team dramatically and it is not even debatable. This is not some far fetched zoner homer opinion this is based on the opinions outside of this blog. Everything you guys throw out there is based purely on opinion everything we put out there is based on fact, stats, articles, and quotes.

Oakland would do it too; Even though they have no shot.

I posted the article yesterday stating Oakland was not going to pursue AD. There are three teams. Minn, Ariz, and Dallas. He will be on one before training camp starts. He already skipped out on voluntary workouts and the 250k bonus that comes with it. There is a line in the sand between MInn/AD pretty much like there is a line in the sand regarding this topic....I wonder if we can get the rights and make a reality TV show out of this...

Where did I say McFadden was the lead? Or any current rb on the roster. No one back is gonna carry the load. Garrett saw how Murray was worn out last year, and said so about next year after the season ended.

Worn out? Again....opinion....how was he worn out?

So we got a Raider castoff, an underwear thief, a practice squad guy, a change of pace guy, and then add a rookie to the mix (which has a 50% chance of being a bust).................everybody then gets exactly 1/5 of the carries so no one back becomes the lead dog.

Is that the plan you guys want to go with over Peterson?

All I can say is WOW...............if this is how we are going to play this thing, I hope the offensive line is as good as yall seem to think it is.

I know...wow...I just don't get it.

Well, his YPC dropped in the last few games of the season. Even announcers (I think it was Aikman) observed that he was not running through tackles that he would have earlier in the year. He started out like gang-busters but he dropped pretty drastically at the end. He had 1 game where he averaged less than 4 yards a carry (4.7) and 2 games where he averaged less than 3 (2.6).

The draft picks I would be fine with but no way would I offer a 3 year $25 million dollar contract. That is more per year than we offered Murray. Many on the team were good friends with Murray, what kind of message is that sending? We know you were a great RB here. We know you ran for the most yards in Cowboys history last year. We know you were a leader on the team. But, sorry, we can't pay you that much per year. But we CAN pay more to this other RB who happens to be coming off a suspension and is four years older than you.

That just makes no sense to me at all. Chemistry is a real and important thing in locker rooms. I fear that might just screw up the chemistry here majorly.

It makes perfect sense he is better.

So....we are talking opinion...you don't think it had anything to do with the level of competition they were facing at the end last year....and if memory serves me correct the game Aikman made that statement was against the Lions....

I think that the rookie we draft, be it Gurley, Gordon, Ajayi, Coleman or one of the other backs, will be in a great position. I really think that they will be the favorite for Rookie of the Year. Our offensive line is great, we have a great QB and a great receiver corp. No matter who the rookie is that lands here, he will be in a great position to succeed.

I don't disagree with a single word but none of them will be AD. Add AD to this team and it's a legitimate Super Bowl contender. The defense probably doesn't really have to be that good to go on and have a chance to win a Super Bowl. You can't say that with any of those rookies.

It doesn't make sense. If Murray had had a poor season or even an average one, it would make sense but not after the season he had. It especially would not make sense to his team mates and friends. He had the best season by a RB in Cowboys history. And his reward is telling him that we can only pay him X amount with X guaranteed and then turning around and paying another RB more? One who has not played in a year and is 4 years older? I don't know, if I was his team mate that would be a sign of disloyalty by the franchise.

No, it wasn't the Lions game. It was during the regular season. I think it was the second Eagles game. I would have to look at the recording of the game. He did wear down, I am not sure how you could deny that.

You completely want to ignore all common sense and prevalent thought in this. History shows that a RB with that many carries tends to run down at the end of the season. Nope, you want to ignore it. Couldn't happen. No way.

History shows that RBs start to diminish at 30. Nope, you ignore it. Couldn't happen. No way. This RB is different.

Denial at its finest.

Yes it would make sense to his teamates the cowboys just upgraded. Murray had a awesome year...one out of four...the clubhouse leaders will be at the airport with open arms if AD is brought in. There isn't one person you can find with real hard fact knowlege of the game that is going to say AD is not a upgrade over Murray. These guys understand what is going on. What will upset them the most if mgmt stands pat and does not bring AD/draft a top RB and stays status quo with the current group...that will bring some dissension into the clubhouse.

Yeah. You go ahead and think that. That is why Dez and Tony are both on record that they wanted Murray back. That is why they consistently stated how important he was to the franchise. Yep, they were lying. They secretly wanted AP all along. I mean, screw Murray, he only had the best season in franchise history. What Dez and Romo really wanted is a 30 year old RB, who hasn't played for a year. Yep. You got it.

This is not just any RB...so the second eagles game when they stacked the box to stop Murray and dared Romo to beat them? The same approach they took on thanksgiving...except the second game it didn't work....common man...really...towards the end of the year every team the cowboys lined up against wanted to stop the run.....i cant deny something that has not happened....not sure how you can.

Again you and the others...nothing but opinions....nothing.....no one ever said everyone on the team was happy with the decision. Sounds like someone has taken Murray leaving personal? I don't think anyone "knows" what Dez wants...Romo on the other hand wants a ring. Your dellusional if you think he would not be thrilled with AD standing behind him.

Yep. You know it. You are 100% sure that AP is capable of doing what only 27 RBs have done since 1990 and that is have a 1000 yard season at age 30 or above. No, wait. You think he is going to have a better season than Murray did last year. So you think AP is going to do what only 3 backs 30+ have done since 1990. Have a 1500 yard season.

Yep. The odds are so with AP and you. The odds are so great you want to give up draft picks and a big contract. You guys want to talk about the odds of drafting a bust? The odds of AP having a great season are worse.

Nope. I am not glad he left but there was no way I would pay a RB as much as he wanted and got. Not in today's NFL. Not when the draft is so RB heavy. I totally agree with Jones letting him go at that price. I just don't agree with paying another RB, who is 4 years older more.

Joey Galloway and Roy Williams werent even on the same planet as Adrian Peterson. You are talking about 2 scrub recievers, compared with one ot the greatest RB's in history.

Neither of those teams were a player or 2 away from winning a super bowl either. This team is.

Joey Galloway got injured and we weren't a player away anyways, like you said. Roy Williams was always a scrub and another factor during that time was Jason Garrett was calling the plays. Williams was actually a means to try and rectify an ailing offense as well.

It's not even close to comparable and I have no idea how people try to correlate the situations.

Nope never made that statement..no one knows...however what i do know is the same as what the entire NFL knows and that is AD is better than Murray and would be a great get for this team.

Well at least we agree it was best for Murray to go...

Once Romo is gone, we are back to rebuilding, especially with our 'big play' vertical offense. The window is getting smaller as we speak.

You can build all you want, but when he is gone, we back to the drawing boards. Plus, we will lose players via free agency anyways.
