He already left.

I'm saying he never would have wasted his time coming here if he's looking for a LT team.

National news is slower and less accurate than local news.

On this I tend to agree, but nobody else local has even hinted at it either that I've seen. Clarence Hill isn't exactly reliable so there's really no telling what the truth is, or with Hill, even if they really met tonight.

You can look at the posts for most of the dallas cowboys related media on twitter... they confirm that he met with the cowboys last night.

As to where exactly they met, I have no idea, but there is no news of a contract, and Hill did report that Collins is going to take his time.

Not saying he will not sign with the Cowboys, but the fact that they didn't get a contract done right away is disappointing. Getting him would be a huge coup from this team, and the team needs it.

My wiki page said I am the emperor of Earth... but yea... could be true lol.

But wait, you're not?!?!

I thought everything on Wikipedia was factual?

Well, if that's the case I'm throwing out the life-size statue of you I have cluttering up my living room!

Now I can see the TV again!

Let's not get carried with Collins' scouting report either.

He was projected as mid to late 1st rounder, maybe early second.

Where did you ever see 'early second'? Do you have a link to that?

I'd love to see that too. He was a consensus 1st round pick with many having him in the top 15.

Yeah, with some places having him listed as their top offensive lineman. If Jerry and the Cowboys can get this deal done, this will look like one of the greatest draft hauls of all time. This is an unprecedented opportunity to land a Top 15 first rounder essentially for free.

And this offensive line could go from great to legendary.

Funny how people in here mention the lack of signing bonus as an issue....sure, by league rules, but if somehow, a week after he signs, his mother gets a $500k house free of charge from an anonymous source (fully furnished of course), then I am sure lil ol' La'el won't complain

It sounds nice, however, my sense is these things don't happen because eventually the player leaves, maybe they are cut for some reason they don't like after a year or two, and they tell the press of the illicit payment or blackmail the front-office that they are going to reveal it.

In either case, it's a very ugly situation - the NFL would throw the book at the team (loss of draft picks, etc) or the team would have to pay blackmail money.

Not saying it would happen exactly that way however, that's why I <think> this kinds of payments that don't show up as cap charges rarely if ever happen.

Collins and agent are in no rush. They will take their time and let each interested team make a pitch. OTAs don't begin for another 2-3 weeks and minicamps not until mid June. I'd imagine their target date to make a decision is one of those team functions.

I am starting to think Jerry sold his soul to the devil because if Collins signs with Dallas we would of had quite frankly one of the most legendary offseasons of all time for a playoff caliber team.

That would be amazing, for sure. Fingers crossed.

Maybe the multiple tweets from multiple sources and also the news we're his 1st visit adds to that? But of course continue with the negativity because clearly we're not interested or a suitor.

multiple sources said there was a dez video also.

look, maybe he is. could be he changed his mind. lots of things could be.

however, to prance around like a victory parade cause of a few tweets just seems a bit premature to me. but hey, if fun, prance on, mcduff.

Seeing as how this team needs a long term solution at RT, I imagine they made the most attractive offer possible and pointed out that there is a starting position for which he would be the front runner to win. Unless they told him he was better suited to be a guard, or he wants to be a left tackle, there's no reason he wouldn't end up here after checking in with other teams.
