The same with Manziel. Romo in my opinion has been good but not great for us. I guess in current day NFL your lucky to have good. I know Romo was screwing up bad in his first several years as a starter. The same negatives they talk about in this doc was his issues. Me personally I would have been drafted a qb to compete with Romo.

"You guess you're lucky to have good?" Really?

Romo was screwing up bad his first several years as a starter? He was? How?

You're going to take five throws on national television and infer he was screwing up bad?

C'mon man, I'm not beating you up but you're lucky to have Alex Smith these days. I don't know if you're old enough but do you know what went on in between Randy White and Troy Aikman? Aikman to Romo?

Your undervaluing of Romo is unbelievable. He could've (should've) won the MVP last season. Your comparison is like saying I guess we're lucky to have Dan Fouts but he's no Montana or Marino. I just don't think you understand how freaking hard it is to find a great quarterback and by any statistical umber you want to pull from Romo is great. If anything, you should know by now there are about 12 guys on the entire planet who have the arm, vision, intelligence and intangibles to play that position at a high level. You don't pull them off trees.

In the documentary Darren Woodson hated the way Romo ran the scout teams because he ate the starters up. He would look guys off, anticipate throws, etc. Woodson said he went to Parcels and told him that Romo is the best QB on the team and it's not even close. Parcel's knew it too, he just couldn't throw him to the wolves. And please - we all know the ring arguments by now on both sides.

I think we are all in for a rude awakening (again) if we don't start preparing for the next starting quarterback.

I heard they said they'd go that high and Sean Payton said,"I'll get him for 10."

Payton is a good salesman because 15,000 less than what Denver was offering was a pretty sizable amount of money to lose for a young guy coming out of college. Little did anyone know Romo would cash in that $10,000 on a 100M plus contract someday.

From what I learned is that Romo wanted to go to Denver but he (and his dad maybe, or agent)...looked at the starters on both squads and he decided that the best place to get into the NFL was Dallas because they sucked at QB every since Aikman went down and that the QB in Denver (can't remember who that was)...was already established.

So, for Romo according to him, it was not about the money, it was about trying to make an NFL team.

I tell you, Romo is a down to Earth guy....and one hell of a QB!

And, I think when Payton went to the Saints he wanted to take Romo with him. lol

In 2003, I believe that Denver had Plummer and Steve Beuerlein. I think they had also just drafted Jurius Jackson. Cowboys had nobody.

Your all up on Romo chill. Romo is good but not great. I say this and I will continue to say it. I know what this team went through after Aikman left and who do we fault ? If JJ doesn't do something now we might go through it now. But I'm sorry I REFUSE to put a qb on a pedestal that hasn't done much but win a couple playoff games... I'm sorry. Until Romo show me a ring or is consistent in making deep playoff appearances he is what he is to me.

Jake Plummer was the Bronco QB in 2003.

This is really cool to watch and I can't wait till the next one. This got me a little football emotional. First there's the great story of Romo and the tragedy of Quincy. I know Quincy is a joke Cowboy fans make, me included, but watching this made me realize that is a person with feelings and issues like everyone else. I know he made decisions that hurt his career and that's on him but how many of us weren't ready for our first job out of college and had to learn the hard way. For the first time since he left I thought about him on a personal level. I'll never make fun of Carter again.

Now to something happier. Thank God Tony choose us over Denver. My favorite part is when Tony discussed meeting Witten for the first time. Talk about 2 guys who saved this franchise. Can you imagine what Cowboy life would be like since '03 without Romo and Witten. I don't want to. Maybe we need to pull out some David Lefleur highlights. In fact Witten is so awesome I can't even remember who our tight ends were before him. We had some dude like Bjornsen or something like that. Romo, Witten are franchise savers and we cashed in on both. Much respect to Parcells (and the rest of the F.O) for picking Witten and recruiting Romo. And one final nod to Parcells. Even though he didn't win us a super bowl, I will be forever greatful to him because he didn't rush Romo on the field and screw up his career, ala how Carter, Ryan Leaf, Hutchinson, Heath Schuler, Drew Henson, etc (I know Schuler played for the Commanders but he's a good example). Parcells did us all a favor by sitting Romo till he could handle the game and was ready.

You do realize that there are 53 active players on roster during Game Day right? They do make a difference between making playoff or not. Or going deeper into Playoffs. You maybe able to carry a team into playoffs but once there you'll need help. No single PERSON can win a championship...just ask Elway and Marino.

Tony McGee, Mike Lucky, James Whalen.

Yes, I need to get out more.

Those guys was good enough to take their team to the playoffs with an average squad. That is why I say Romo is good but not great.

Tony McGee, Mike Lucky, James Whalen.

Yes, I need to get out more.

Mike Lucky. Yes he's the guy I was trying to think of. He's the one that was supposed to be the next best tight end and then he toar up his knee in a preseason game. James Whalen was another one I couldn't think. I'm impressed with your roster knowledge

James Whalen.

A personal favorite.

Jimmy Jam would bring it on special teams back in the day.

He helped win a game against Washington by injuring one of their guys and forcing time to run off the clock because they were out of timeouts.
