The same with Manziel. Romo in my opinion has been good but not great for us. I guess in current day NFL your lucky to have good. I know Romo was screwing up bad in his first several years as a starter. The same negatives they talk about in this doc was his issues. Me personally I would have been drafted a qb to compete with Romo.
"You guess you're lucky to have good?" Really?
Romo was screwing up bad his first several years as a starter? He was? How?
You're going to take five throws on national television and infer he was screwing up bad?
C'mon man, I'm not beating you up but you're lucky to have Alex Smith these days. I don't know if you're old enough but do you know what went on in between Randy White and Troy Aikman? Aikman to Romo?
Your undervaluing of Romo is unbelievable. He could've (should've) won the MVP last season. Your comparison is like saying I guess we're lucky to have Dan Fouts but he's no Montana or Marino. I just don't think you understand how freaking hard it is to find a great quarterback and by any statistical umber you want to pull from Romo is great. If anything, you should know by now there are about 12 guys on the entire planet who have the arm, vision, intelligence and intangibles to play that position at a high level. You don't pull them off trees.
In the documentary Darren Woodson hated the way Romo ran the scout teams because he ate the starters up. He would look guys off, anticipate throws, etc. Woodson said he went to Parcels and told him that Romo is the best QB on the team and it's not even close. Parcel's knew it too, he just couldn't throw him to the wolves. And please - we all know the ring arguments by now on both sides.
I think we are all in for a rude awakening (again) if we don't start preparing for the next starting quarterback.
