On fans' newfound appreciation for Romo following the play of Cassel and Brandon Weeden:
"It's a shame and it's sad that we had to go this route for Tony Romo to get the respect and the just that he's due. I bet you now they (the fans) appreciate Romo."

I'm sure that's still not true for all Cowboy fans (some people are just stubborn!!) but I gotta agree with my Playmaker on this...maybe most Romo-haters see the light now?

not KJJ or ufcrules. They will go to their grave hating Tony.

This whole notion of calling anybody a "hater" because they criticize a particular player is nonsense. The word "hater" is a juvenile word to begin with and is commonly misplaced on this board.
you are so full of it. Go back and read some of the HUNDREDS of posts UFCRULES had about Romo and try and claim that is NOT hate.

I'm not sure what I'm full of, but if he did make irrational posts about Romo then you could label those posts as irrational, and maybe even the poster as being such, I'm talking about people being labeled a "hater" because they say anything negative about Romo. In some posters minds on here, Romo can do no wrong and if you say anything about him in a negative way, you're labeled a "hater." It's nonsense.

No, I don't think so. When you're thinking that a Brandon Weeden led team was going to win against a Tom Brady led NE team, the term homer can be used properly.

You have a point there, but on occasion, the term "hater" applies, too.

I'm not disagreeing with that, but too often it's thrown around if you make a valid point even if it's negative towards a Cowboy football player, coach, or the team in general.

Yep. It seems anymore that if you have something positive to say you're a blind homer, in the eyes of some, and if you criticize, you're a hater in the eyes of others. It gets old, sometimes.

My biggest issue with Romo was his confidence. He used to have games where I was like oh no, he's giving us that look.. that look of this is too much pressure for me. Sure enough he would play terrible in bad moments. But that all started to change.. I don't know what it was..he's just not that guy anymore. He has that confidence and moxie throughout the season, playoffs you name it. He said it himself recently.

Can't really argue with this.

I'm against irrationalism on both sides. For instance, I don't think the Cowboys will win this Sunday, but I won't call posters "homers" if they think otherwise because it is reasonable to think that they can win, even though I think it's unlikely. But the amount of people on here that believed that Brandon Weeden was going to lead this team to a win against NE, I think that was "homerism." The same goes with the people who think that the Cowboys should tank this season, they are just as irrational on the other side of the spectrum.

Stop your hating!

Agreed. Plus, it's 2015. That word is played out.

:hammer:

If only Romo were 30 years old in 2015 (even 32 or 33)... He's undoubtedly reached elite status mentally, I just hope it's not out of the question for him to continue playing at a very high level (or at all) into his late 30's... this latest injury makes me wary, but then again it could have been worse -- another back injury for instance.

If he can manage to avoid further injury to his back, I think he will play at least until 38 (assuming no other major issues).

Guys keep bringing this up. This team needs a quarterback after Romo. Sure he's a top quarterback in this league but if his injury taught us anything it's that guy simply need a quarterback in this league and when Romo went down we were reminded of this.

Maybe it's juvenile if it's not true.
It's dead on the mark on some occasions around here.
Other times, not so much.
