So he's making it up, why? To push Jones?

If anything, the fact he's an alumni, it might lend more credence that he has tips from those on campus.

All in all, Breer has been pretty clean with what he has reported over the years. It is not like this is Rapoport or LaCanfora here.
 
My 3rd day 'Pet Cat' pick, if he is there after the 4th Round. The effort in evaluation is strong with this one, sits for two or three years. Plays right into the kind of scenario Dallas has been confronted with Tony Romo.

I totally agree, which is why I don't see Garrett being interested in Cardale Jones. I can't see Garrett believing that Jones is any kind of fit for his scheme, and I can't see Garrett adapting his offensive philosophy to that kind of scheme.

To me this guy would have to be a LAAAAATE round guy but I imagine he will be drafted well before he should be.

However again...he has some good physical abilities.

What he does not have is good starting EXP so he is still young and one could make the argument he has plenty to learn but he is not so ingrained, due to lack of college starts, that he could not be taught.

Just something to think about...we are not talking about a four year starter here. This guy is the definition of a project.

That's fair. I just don't see him as a scheme fit for Garrett, who is a branch off the drop-back, non-running QB tree.

STRENGTHS
Cardale might be the most physically gifted quarterback in this draft. He has a strong arm and excellent accuracy. He has the athleticism to move in the pocket, and the ability to gain yards on the run if the pocket breaks down. He has the prototypical size, strength and arm talent that NFL teams look for. The film shows that he's a talented athlete. Unfortunately, it takes more than talent to play in the NFL.

CONCERNS
My concerns with Cardale are work ethic, football IQ, physical conditioning, and mental toughness. Cardale looks to be physically out of shape and it showed in his pro day work out. In interviews, his lack of maturity is frightening.

His primary issues are lack of maturity, poor work ethic, and conditioning. He should be embarrassed that he never reached his potential while still in college. He has too much talent to have gotten benched. That should've been a wakeup call or at least a source of embarrassment. I wouldn't draft him. He has a lot of maturing to do. I'd let another team draft him, and then once his rookie contract is up, I'd consider picking him up in free agency. Let another team deal with his growing pains. He has top 10 physical talent, but his lack of work ethic, maturity, and football IQ will prevent teams from spending a 1st rd pick on him. Consequently, coaches will not be pressed to spend a lot of time developing him. He's going to have to want to get better himself. And, I question if he has the will to get better. A lack of committed coaches to babysit him and teach him means he will have little direction, and direction is exactly what he needs. I also question if he's mature enough to responsibly handle a NFL paycheck. Nevertheless, I'm sure he'll be drafted. Because, in the NFL, talent always trumps character.
 
They really should trade back into the first round to draft him.

You know, so they can get that option year.
 
It appears they've looked at almost every QB which to me is smart. But as stated I hope they didn't like what they seen with him

This is why I want nothing to do with him. He squandered a job that was handed to him, then essentially refused to do the work needed to earn it back. He missed team meetings and was out of shape and lethargic. He's only in the draft for whatever paycheck he can get. I would take Prescott over this kid in heartbeat and I want nothing to do with Prescott...
 
Lacks work ethic, IQ, physical conditioning and mental toughness.

That's the Mount Rushmore of skill sets you don't want your QB to have.
