I'll never be able to fathom why these pro-athletes can't stay off their drugs. They're literally throwing away millions of dollars just to smoke some damn weed. Josh Gordon is the best example... the guy was about to get a fat contract (probably in the $60-$70m range), but nah... he'd rather do drugs. The guys who do this are either A.) complete idiots or B.) have a mental issue and should check into rehab. Either one I don't want on my football team.

It is mind blowing. Before retirement, I had a very good job that required random drug screening without notice. I was there 27 years. These guys have multi-million dollar careers and can't control themselves? Maybe it is time for Mr. Jones to put a "termination for illegal drug use" in the contract of every player signed and then enforce it.

This looks like a systemic drugs problem within the team. Medical staff and trainers should be held accountable.

It's almost like this team lacks discipline with all these drug suspensions and reports of a player missing meetings.

Shocking. I can't put my finger on the problem.

I don't see how Bosa can be the pick when he, and our other two DE's, all have drug concerns.

The Cowboys can't be the team that has 3 DE's that could be in the drug program at any given moment, which rules both Bosa and Spence out.

It's banned and he knows better than take a banned substance....

BUT

How can the league actually consider Adderrall a performance enhancing drug?
Anyone who has ever taken Adderrall will tell you that it doesn't enhance performance any more than a strong cup of coffee and a Sudafed enhances performance. It's goofy that the NFL puts Adderrall in the same category as Anabolic Steroids and HGH. Like another poster said it's commonly prescribed for Attention deficit disorder. The players association needs to stand up for its players. The leagues drug policy is only hurting its own image publicly over misclassifying drugs.

I agree. You just can't draft these guys now. Enough is enough.

Maybe the 4 game suspension will teach these guys. Frankly they need veteran leadership along the defensive line to help guide these young guys.

It's been used for years as a performance enhancer in the military and various sports. It is a lot different than a cup of coffee, on a number of levels.

I thought they changed the way this drug was classified? Orlando Scnadrick tested positive and was supposed to be suspended 4 games, then the NFLPA and the NFL reached some kind of settlement and his suspension was reduced to two games and I thought going forward it was going to be treated as a drug, not performance enhancing? Maybe this just isn't his first positive test?

Which levels?
Caffeine is also banned by the NCAA and in the same stimulant category as Adderall.
Any sports performance gains come from stimulating the central nervous system. Just like caffeine.
