I'm ready to move on. If Dak leads this team to a good record, I think Romo needs to hold a clipboard even if healthy.

Wait all summer for the return of football and then this happens.

We've actually waited a LOT longer than that but hey, they are still making huge money regardless. The Jones' don't really care deep down. If they did, they'd hire a real GM who would actually build a team with solid backup QB's. Not Kellen Moore or 'Golden' Showers. It's a joke. JJ just treats it as his own personal fantasy team and we won't win diddly poo on a stick as long as he keeps meddling.

Kapernick very well could come available.
He could help this team if he could get his accuracy back and impove reading defenses. It's coachable if he is ready.he has all the other intangibles.
Edit :I just changed my mind on this. Just read where he didn't stand for national anthem whining about oppression. Stick it Kap.

Isn't he the son of that guy that said they weren't even going to x-ray Romo's back? Am I the only one that noticed how awkward Romo looked just trying to slide safely. The man cannot adequately protect himself and he needs to sit down with his wife and talk this over. How much punishment can a man's back take before he can't even bend down pick up one of his kids any longer? I admire courage but there is a point when that becomes ridiculous.

They put Romo back there and that's like putting a wounded gazelle in the middle of a pride of lions. Football is survival of the fittest and he is not fit to play the game any longer.
I'm thinking there is a lot about his back that is being or was being kept quiet I love me some Romo but it is time for him to retire while he can still walk and do the wild monkey dance with his hot wife

Yes he looked stiff trying to slide, before he was hit. He was stiff going into the game wether they admit it or not. It bothered him earlier in the preseason too.

No. He's turned weird. He's gone vegan and political. I actually think a good backup for Dak could be Mike Vick.
The last thing we need is more distractions. If our back up QB is going to be a distraction I'd rather bring in Manziel who is younger and more talented. Kap was a one year wonder that fizzled. I don't want Kap or Manziel or any QB that will be a distraction. Give me someone like Matt Moore, if he's cut, or at worst Michael Vick. Geno Smith maybe, if we don't have to trade for him and none of our linebackers break his jaw.

I disagree with this.
What quality of veteran QB is available now.
Dak would win at least the same amount of games
as what i am aware of thats available.
Go with Dak take our lumps.
See the future

I think it's just smoke for the Giants. He doesn't want to tip their hand about going with Dak. For him to be so emphatic and say it would be naive to think they'd go with a rookie, makes me believe that's exactly what they're going to do.

All will work out, the Cowboys will have a good year !!!
I think so too. I am not thinking super bowl any more but watching Dak in the preseason gives me some hope. He got a little moxie to him. He's confident, he displays confident body language and can make the throws. I know everyone is saying "well it's vanilla defense in preseason" and I agree but I counter that argument when you compare him to the other rookie QB's that played in the preseason with the same vanilla defenses. Bottom line is Dak stood out amongst the rookies and even some veterans.
Here's the pros of Dak:
improved accuracy from college
good pocket awareness
keeps his head high while scrambling looking for plays down the field
Can make plays running
Can throw the deep ball and show some touch on screen passes
Seems like a smart player and puts the ball where only our guy can get it, no stupid turnovers

Here's the Cons for Dak:
Rookie
Rookie
Rookie
Rookie
and lack of regular season experience
Hasn't played against a defense that has game planned against him

There was a lot of people who wanted to cut ties with Romo and start the new era with the fourth pick in the draft and get a QB. Well I look at this as best of both worlds. I think we have the best QB from the draft, at least that what it looks like now, and Romo will be out for a while so we can see if the Kid has what it takes to win games for us. We'll get a taste of the future with the possibility of not losing the entire season.

Let's think positive guys, everything happens for a reason.

I think Dak can win us games and keep us competitive till #9 gets back in 8 weeks. That's my prediction, 8 weeks and we'll be 5-3.

Romo's still got five more good years left of Football, or was that ten years, right Steven????

I love Dak and am inspired by his play. I think he's our future. But it wouldn't matter if he went 4-0 the first month. It's not Tony's job, it's Tony's team

I recall New England fans saying something similar about Bledsoe and some green rook named Brady.

Couldn't agree more. I love tony but who didn't see this coming even a few seasons ago? Jerry did nothing at the QB position for years.
Now they may have struck gold. Roll the dice. Romo didn't have the time our GM thought. Hard to believe he actually believed it himself.
