Reminds me of Afroman's "Because I got high"

I was gonna go to work but then I got high
I just got a new promotion but I got high
Now I'm selling dope and I know why
'Cause I got high
Because I got high
Because I got high

I messed up my entire life because I got high
I lost my kids and wife because I got high
Now I'm sleeping on the sidewalk and I know why
'Cause I got high
Because I got high
Because I got high

You replied to me and I answered. Waiting for your retort. Big bad wolf.
OK DUDE! You said it's only weed! Guess what's? It's a federal offense. How do I know this? Because I've been a federal agent for years and I've put people behind bars for it. If a player can't follow the law (and rules), find another way to make a damn living. End of freaking story! Brah!

OK. This is my last stab at this. Go back and read your OWN post. You said it was ONLY pot and that it was legal in a few places. That's an excuse any way you slice it. If you don't see it, I don't know what to tell you. The NFL and the federal government (as well as the state of Texas) say you can't use it. End of story. READ YOUR OWN POST!

I wasn't excusing him. I was citing how unfortunate our laws were. Now we're on to something. Did you, by any chance, read my second post on the second page?

Same damn thing. He knows the laws/rules and he didn't abide by them. We can only deal with reality, not how you WANT things to be. You can disagree with the laws all you want, but that's still making an excuse for him or anybody else for that matter.

Well, if they keep him, he's on three cheap one year deals (2018 final year of rookie contract, 2019 ERFA, 2020 RFA), but they also lose his spot on 90 man rosters.

He can play in the CFL if the NFL gives up on him for low six figures probably. That league didn't punish pot use, but they recently updated their drug testing so I can't say for certain that they still don't.

This is horrible if true. Somebody pinch me. I was full-bore in his corner. Hoping we would get him back for our postseason push.

Unbelievable. DE is a number one priority in draft and perhaps in free agency as well (not a tier one, but a tier 2 signing). It can't just be Tank on the outside.

Damnit, Gregory. Damnit, dude. If this is over weed, this is sickening that weed can destroy a player's career in the 21st century. Weed, folks.

You "get off muh lawn" folks need to realize, marijuana will be federally legal soon. We're losing a player to some weed. In two or three, maybe four years (our next general election) this guy wouldn't be drawing these suspensions.
federally legal soon........maybe in about 20 years lol and even then it might still be against nfl rules for another 10.
I did read the nflpa was trying to get is ok for pain mgmt lol.

well...this much is true...you can't say he was just a paycheck player since he basically disregarded the money for "the life"...he can hang out with Ricky Williams I guess at this point. I hope he has some other special talent since his chances at the "good life" aren't going to come via football. Perhaps he can move to California and open a weed superstore emporium.
Well since it is legal here after we passed it on Tiesday, he should have no problem.

We shall see, Don... Gregory is perhaps a lost cause, at this point, sadly.

There's no license when becoming LEO? Being that I'm not LEO I wouldn't know, but I know that they (my battles) went through a barrage of training and licensure. SFPD, SDSD, and USMS required licensure if I'm not mistaken.

What is your agency, commando,
Trouty, I think I am naive but what is a LEO ( I am thinking that it is not the astrological sign). Also what does SFPD, SDSD and USMS stand for. Thanks.

lol they should have made him stay at the rehab place till game 10, then only let him out for game day, then back in.
he needs to dry out for a year .
As long as he is on his own and can get it, he will keep smoking it, he evidently cant stop.

Well the fact that a person can't stop smoking it and is risking Millions and millions of dollars kinda says other wise. Regardless of the reason.. whether its physical or mental or self medication, etc, doesn't really matter. He can't stop. He has done Rehab, he has done all this stuff and yet, he failed again.. if these reports are true. So people can say whatever, rationalize it however, but when you can't stop something, smoking, drugs, gambling, etc, its an addiction.

And I have personally known a few people that would rather smoke than work.. they gave up good jobs because they couldn't or wouldn't quit. I don't know if it is addictive or not, I don't smoke it. But when people can't stop, that is addiction to me, whether it is clinically described as addiction or not.
That's on Gregory. If it wasn't weed, he'd find something else to be "addicted" to.

Weed is not physically addictive. Blaming weed for Gregory's issues makes as much sense as blaming food for obese people.

BigDog, LEO is Law Enforcement Officer. And SFPD is San Fransisco Police Department, SDSD is San Diego Sheriffs Department, and USMS is United States Marshals Service. I have very close friends (my battles) in all three departments. :) I am not, however, LEO. Just to be clear. :)

Yet that is all the pro-weed folk bring up every time someone fails a test

He doesn't have cancer or CF or arthritis and neither does Ro McClain

Bringing up all that stuff is irrelevant

It's irrelevant to the case at hand, but not the larger point.

This country needs to grow up and think like intelligent and informed adults when it comes to marijuana. Me caring about a grown adult getting high on pot is like me caring that a grown adult goes out to get drunk. It's really none of my business. And it shouldn't be the NFL's business either.

Yeah. Might be a fall back career. How much tax revenue u think we will raise from it? I'm guessing about $500 million year one since Colorado did $129 million their first year.

It's a no brainer to end the drug war and that it was a mistake from the start. One political faction ramped up the drug wars years ago. Despite its ineffectiveness and many of the original supporters gone or changed the leaders haven't budged on the federal laws. There is a mountain of evidence that shows it's a failed policy. There is also Portugal, for one, that is an example that ending the drug war has great benefits to a society.

My hope is for this younger generation to see things more clearly and not use anecdotal evidence and their emotions to make important decisions about the direction of our country and the key policies that affect it.

The older generation is set in their ways and is not going to change.

Miley Cyrus? It sounds like we have ourselves another Internet message board tough guy here.
Yea your such a tough one. Miley Cyrus and Butt hurt in the same sentence. What are you 12?
How about letting the adults take this one?
You were right though. You can't fix stupid. I'm not going to try.
Hey sorry I hurt your feelings and I didn't mean to bully you around. Got to admit the Miley Cyrus comment was a nice touch though. :muttley:

You could be offended all the way to the unemployment line. If your employer doesn't want drugs in your system and you violate it, you should be gone. If you don't like it, feel free to look for another job.

I said there is no excuse for Gregory breaking the rules.

Read my post.
