FT: Is Dak Prescott the best QB in the NFCE? (Yes)

Dak was a great story last year, and could very well be great in the future, but I think you guys grossly under-estimate how protected Dak was. Your oline and running game was straight up beastly. Elliot could get stopped at the LoS and still fall forward for a 3 or 4 yard gain. It was a huge task for defenses to get off the field because you guys always moved the chains.

I know this is going to incite outrage on a Cowboy board, but Kirk is clearly the best QB in the East right now. He statically faced the toughest defenses last year out of all QBs. He has a mediocre at best running game. Your defense wasn't the best, but the Skins was historically bad. We also had one of the worst kickers in the league. The past two years as a starter, Kirk has been top 5 in several key stats. If Kirk had a Dallas caliber run game, Kirk would be unstoppable because our playaction would be much more effective and our receivers would be even more open than they were. Our redzone performance would greatly improve also because teams know we can't run the ball and tight redzone windows get even tighter with no run threat. Hopefully the Commanders will draft a high caliber RB because it's a huge hole for us.

The ranking as of right now goes-
Kirk
Dak
Eli
Wentz

Of course things can change. Wentz could have a break out year or something like that.
Good news! He'll have all those guys again next year.

QUOTE="Brandon777, post: 6802368, member: 2002"]Dak is a mid-round rookie who was viewed by many scouts as a potential starter, but currently a project.[/QUOTE]

And looks like you thought the same thing before his historic season that included two wins against the Washington football team.

Maybe I missed something, but you lost 40% of your Oline this offseason.

What was wrong with that other quote? Many scouts said that. BTW, you can thank our kicker and horrible defense for that 2nd win haha.

The bottom line is that there are some fans who will never support or acknowledge Dak Prescott due to the color of his skin.

I've been saying it and I'll keep saying it until the mods delete my account or permanently ban me for speaking the truth.

Cousins is the very definition of average. Eli has won SB's...so he gets the respect he's earned. Prescott will become the best in the next yr or so. Needs some experience and big game wins and that will come.

Easy, Brother...maybe some folks are hurt because he replaced Romo...but it certainly is not based on the colour of his skin.

Cousins makes too many mistakes to me,he has more range but something seems to be missing.

He doesn't really make that many mistakes since he's become the full time starter. That's just an unfortunate label he got from his early struggles back when he was backing up RG3. Every QB is going to throw an occasional pick. The problem with the Commanders was our offense had to play completely 100% mistake free football because our defense was so atrocious. Last year Commanders would've been a 4-5 win team without Kirk. Our FG kicker cost us at least 2 wins last year.

Kirk was ranked 3rd in total yards, 1st in air yards (yards from where the ball is thrown and caught, not YAC), 6th in total QBR, 5th in total EPA (measurement of how much a player contributes to winning the game). Out of all the QBs, he statistically faced the best defenses. 9 out of the 16 games they played were against top 11 defensive teams.

If that's average, I'm cool with that.

Lol

Ol casmith, always making it racial:rolleyes:

Its your right to do so, of course.

Can't say I've ever encountered one person that didnt like Dak as QB because of race.
Not one.

But feel free to think that.

yeah that is funny cause dak is half white half black lol , so which one is his "race" ??
I think most people and fans like dak, partly because of he did good as a player, but mostly due to the type of person he is.

You did miss something. Collins will replace Leary and not miss a beat, Free was in decline we will not have a difficult time replacing his current level of play. So to say we lost 40% of our oline is misleading.

That would likely be a very small percentage of narrow minded idiots. Most of the fans that havent yet supported Dak were loyal to Romo and believed Romo to be the better QB. Its not a race issue. Your not speaking the truth, your throwing around racist allegations based off nothing.

You realize Dak was higher in two of your cherry picked stats, right? And in pretty much all advanced stats.

Hey Cousins is better than Dak look at where he ranked on these advanced stats. Posts stats that Dak was ranked higher. Declare victory.

I am delighted that you are content with Kirks play. The Cowboys will own Cousins next season. He and the Commanders are the least of the Cowboys problems going into next season!!

Funny you say Dak was protected by the OL and running game, but Kirk has a good OL himself and had a far superior receiving corps.

Desean jackson
Pierre Garcon
Jamison Crowder
Jordan Reed

He should put up good numbers with players like that around him.

Our OL in pass protection wasn't the best. Our run blocking was, not pass blocking. Dak was sacked 25 times. Kirk Cousins 23 times. So whenever people keep saying Dak was protected by the best OL, no he wasn't. Zeke was protected having the best run blocking OL.

And Pro Football Focus OL rankings (from 3 months ago), had Cowboys at #2 and Commanders at #7. So if Dak gets put down for playing behind a good OL, so should Kirk.

You're right bruh. I stand with you on that.

But, as long as they don't go asking for birth certificates, I'm straight.

It may take another year for the Romo hangover to wear off...

I can subscribe the this.

Bottom line, casmith isn't 100 percent off base. Perhaps slightly but not completely. It really is mostly about the overwhelming Romo love that some possess and the difficulty of getting over that head slitting hangover.
