There are 32 teams.

Only Two teams make the Superbowl per year.

Only One teams wins it.

I guess that means even if you give 10 more teams who might have a shot at the Superbowl for a total of 12 teams.

In your scenario...20 teams should tank the season.

Silly....trolling and worse.

ok last post before running off.
tanking is so rampant that the NBA changed their draft rules.
yes there are big gains in NBA than NFL but they are even tanking in MLB - see Padres.
they took a rule 5 player from 2 teams and played team knowing it would hurt their team.
but it does not matter because those are worthwhile prospects to bring on irrespective of the cost of the year they tank.

tanking is a personnel acquisition strategy.
you may not like it.
but it is practiced.
you can call me whatever you want.
it requires calm cool calculated approach so it is not for everyone.

20 teams dont tank because most gladly settle for a winning season.
a lot of those are small market teams that we should step on like bugs.
the cowboys dont have that concern as the FO is the ownership.

yes, i would tank (stealthily) every year that we do not have a good chance to win it all.
you can call me whatever you want.
but that is a personal preference - all or nothing (while increase chance to improve)

I don't think you even talk about tanking until after Thanksgiving and then only if you have no shot at the post season.

This team is not going to tank on purpose.

END OF STORY.

I don't care how many delusional fans in here are trolling and begging for it...it is only in your head.

As an organization you try to instill a culture of winning.
Even if the culture you have is not winning, you try to instill it to win.

You never try to install a culture of losing within a team.

No matter how bad people think Jerry, Stephen, the HC, OC, DC or lesser coaches are on this team...they are not trying to install a culture of losing.
They might not achieve a culture of winning, but it is not for the lack of trying. They do try.

IT is only in the mind of delusional fans.

As I said...asking a team to tank is only in the minds of delusional fans who are trolling or worse.

What you would do and what an NFL team would do is two completely different things.
Anyone with your mentality to tank a whole season after 5 games in should be fired on the spot for even quietly suggesting it.

That or go be a person working for the Browns...they don't seem to mind doing it and it has really helpled them achieve multiple draft picks...but never has helped them win because
there is a culture of losing in that city and every coach has tried to change it but it is so deeply ingrained it may never change. That's why you never try to install a culture of losing.

It is hard enough to install a culture of winning now days...let alone some silly fans coming along and wanting to lose.

IT is only in the mind of delusional fans.

As I said...asking a team to tank is only in the minds of delusional fans who are trolling or worse.

Anyone talking about tanking with this team is a loser and should root for a new team or leave the sport altogether

well that did not take long.

well you can call me delusional, since you are entitled to ur opinion just like any of us are also entitled to our opinion.

you can calling 9-7 winning.
i call it non-optimal.

i am glad you are not the ownership.
so there is still hope that the draft position will be improved.

between 5-10 spots up the draft is up for grabs.
that is a big difference in the players to be grabbed in the top 4 rounds.

You NEVER lose on purpose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would any season if we are not that good.
you can tank by many means, such as trading valuable players that are on the last season of their contract like dlaw.
patriots do some of that when they traded those players in 2016 but still somehow lucked into the superbowl...

And every rational owner in the NFL is glad YOU are not the owner.

Or...Heck...maybe they would prefer you would be the owner of a team that tries to instill a culture of losing as it makes that one team easier to beat over the long haul. Would love to be the steelers and be in with the Browns or Bengals two games a year.

Ever notice a few teams that always seem to pick in the higher areas of the draft?

You know...Like the Bengals and Browns.

Do they institute a culture of losing? I kind of doubt it but they get high picks year after year after year and yet they still can't seem to get out of their own ways.

I see how drafting high has helped the Browns over the years...not only drafting high picks, but having multiple picks in the first rounds and some other rounds as well.

It really has helped them out.

Fans who advocate a culture of losing can not seem to grasp that it does not help a team win.

Trolling or worse.

How bout the Sixers in the NBA????..it is loser talk

We just gave GB a free 4th qtr TD and didn't have our best player on D ....... we are OK

Guess what.................... teams can score pretty easy in the NFL.... it is set up that by way

yes tanking is bad as a whole for the NFL.
but i am a fan of the cowboys, not the NFL.
each team would benefit if it tanks when not in serious contention.
in economics, this situation is called the prisoner's dilemma.
stay loyal to the group or defect and give away the group.
prisoners will defect as long as there is no long term consequences.
this is a well-known situation and teams are all individually better off defecting (tanking).

yes it is the cool calculated play rather than the rah-rah play.

there are many ways to tank - or better yet - stealth tank.
just trade away DLaw and any good players that are in the last year (or 2) of their contract that we probably would not resign.
that could include any progress stoppers like TWill also.
then play the young players and see who is worth keeping...

does this not sound familiar?
i thought so.

this team is not far off.
1-2 defensive stars and we are serious contenders.

well, may be more people are doing this and people just dont realize it.
people have different perspectives but it does not mean they are wrong and their opinions need to be 'suppressed'.
there are more than 1 way to skin a cat or look at life...

No it is not a cool calculated play.

It is a fumbling bumbling idiotic play of a fan with a delusional mind.

The only leader who wants to install a losing culture to a team is a foolish leader.

2-3 is way too early to tank, regardless on how we have looked early on.

the stealth tank i suggested looks like a strategy followed by many. trade away expiring contracts of valuable players. play the young players. this includes the Patriots in 2016 who traded away Chandler Jones and the LB to the Browns but lucked into the superbowl. sounds like those object to it just cannot handle the sound of 'tanking'. if recast in the form of playing young players, it supposed it would be more easy to swallow for some...

besides calling it stupid and foolish, i dont see any other coherent arguments against tanking. culture change can easily be installed after the season by firing the coaching staff. so garrett and marinelli would serve a useful function before being fired - tanking because they are losers

Waldo was talking about this all off-season before we played one down or signed one player

He just wants to experiment out of boredom or narcissism to see if his spread sheets will work over common sense.... I helped him with some salary cap stuff until it turned into tanking talk

What he doesn't get is the players and coaches that have to lose on purpose won't be here to "reap the rewards" of better players ..... they will be replaced...... 1/2 the team gets churned every 2 years

It is all gimmicks and clickbait

It's a loser's mentality.
It creates a loser's mentality.

This team has a hard enough time trying to install a winning culture since it has been so long since we have won it all.

Yet this delusional fan wants to completely turn around any attempt at a winning culture, to a losing culture and afterwards try to reinstall a winning culture that was not fully there to start with.

It is the most idiotic delusional thing I see every year from these goof madden playing fans.

Every year these people pop out of the wood work with the same idiotic idea like it is a new thing and only they can make it work.

This crazy guy needs to go be a browns fan...he would be in delusional heaven with the way they have tried to work it out over the years and how they are doing it now.

You have had 20+ years since this team has made a trip to the Superbowl.

All of those years trying to install a winning culture with different coaches, different styles of defense, different styles of how to approach the Draft and the FA.

ALL trying to install a winning culture.

And along comes WaldoPutty...the lone genius of the sports world on a message board who wants to install a losing culture to gain a better draft pick for a team that is trying to install a winning culture.

And his only genius rebuttal is fire the coaches after you get a better draft pick.

Hey...let's start yet again from scratch with a new offensive system with players that don't fit it or a new defensive system that does not fit the players.

Hey let's finally get rid of the players that Fat Ryan wanted for his Defense to work and finally get some Secondary players that the next coach wanted all along but could not get because of cap issues...then let's get rid of that current coach to get another coach who probably wants a completely different type of secondary to work with his system and so on.

Yes...YES it is brilliant I tell you...Let's tank it all..>Let's go for broke. Let's get a high draft pick and then turn around and change the coaches and the systems and the type of players we need for the new systems even though they are best fit for the old system and ....wait wait wait...nope, can't do it. Just can't bring myself to this crazy level of delusional thought that tanking the season, not just now but thinking about it prior to the season has even started is a good plan.

This is some silly troll turds floating in a commode of internet life.
