not sure what the first sentence means...when you are not talented, ou don't beat yourselves?...that's exactly what not talented teams do. that's the difference between talented and not talented. talented teams make plays.

and I am as frustrated as you are. but whose fault is it that we fumbled near goal line in Jets game? and gave up a punt for a TD and throw an interception. that's the players with bad execution, like the fumble. I don't fault Garrett for that unless you want to say he coached them to fumble

and then the lions...yes, the pick 6 and another turnover and yes, 4th quarter we were awful.... yes, ball security would have won. why throw when you don't have to...you win with Romo, you go down with Romo

and I don't disagree, the AZ game was bad, took some bad risks, some bad clock management. yet I still am mad that we gave up 200 yards in 4 quarters...yet gave up 65 in one drive in over time....

and I am sorry, some of those losses is on the players. interception. fumble. punt return for TD. int return for TD....you don't think that's on players? not sure what the logic is there....
If we weren’t talented the other team would just kick our butts. That didn’t happen because we had the talent to not only compete, but to be in control of games that we let slip away due to silly mistakes and strategy. Get it now?

As for who you want to blame, I don’t care. Blame me if you want. What I am arguing is that the lack of talent excuse is some BULLSHHHH!

We had talent to make the playoffs and we failed to do so. To me, that is underachieving. Period.

Campo understands football. Had been around the league and been coaching more years then that hapless Garrett.

Garrett would have gone 0-16 3 years in a row with the teams that Campo had.

there you go again defending campo and in another response you claimed you don't defend campo and in another response you called campo a joke. you are all over the place.

campo was no more than a position coach and over his head as a head coach. there is no shame in that. he couldn't lead a team. he lost his players. he couldnt' influence drafting and player acquisition. and again, nothing wrong with being a good position coach..... and campo never ever got another chance to even be in the conversation or candidate for a head coaching position in the NFL. hapless garrett has a better winning percentage than campo. since you like to use percentages to compare coaches...

How was he exposed in the 2016 playoff game? He had his team led by a 4th round rookie QB tied with 40 seconds left and the Packers facing 3rd and 20. They got beat by a great play by a great player (Rodgers) and an even greater play by a not so great player (Cook).

I guess Landry was exposed by Vince Lombardi, Blanton Collier and Don McCafferty?
Oh how I wish Garrett would lose championship games. That would be an improvement.

That right there, that was him winning the job.
no, that was jerry being afraid to make a change....it was short sighted.... Romo would have even made that offense better given all the talent. and he was short sided to go to post season with a Rookie QB. no Rookie QB sees much success in post season. that was part of the reason Dak started cold in the game and we fell behind and had to make a come back. otherwise we should have just blown GB away. you can't deny Dak was cold.

also, My reference was to Dak starting the season. If Romo doesn't get injured. Dak is riding the pine and we may still have Romo this year.

perhaps that average talent over achieved. they should have been blown away, but weren't. in the end, the better more talented team won. the less talented team fumbled, threw Ints, allowed punt returns for TDs and made mistakes.....and let the game slip away. I am not saying we were Cleveland level talent, but middle of the pack and some areas, horrid. those type of mistakes you outlined is not on the coach. its on players.

again and based on what you described...fumble near goal line, Int returned for TD (wasn't that carpenter?), the punt return for TD, those are on players....AZ game was a coaching mistake. but not all those losses can be blamed on coach, specially as you described it. a fumble at goal line....shhheessshhh

with that said, I think where we have been over matched and not ready is post season. I blame the coaches for 2016. we should have never rested the starters in the final game. that meant, with the bye week, 3 weeks since the starters would have practiced in preparation for a game and it showed in the first half, because nobody was in sync. that's on the coaches. I like it when Bilicheck even when he has clinched he plays his starters to keep them sharp....then its just a normal bye week.

Yeah, except for the drafting thing. His first rounders were gone, so his draft input was limited.

Lol. It was the right call. And Dak played great in the playoff game. I 100% dent that he was cold. That game turned early on the unsportsmanlike conduct call on Butler that killed the second series. We scored on the first.

But this is a great example of the second guessing and organizational bashing fans do whenever a judgement call doesn’t work out.

I disagree on Dak. he was good during regular season, but you need experience in the playoffs. he may have done good, but I think Romo would have been better. there is a reason no Rookie QB goes far in the playoffs and never had a superbowl appearance. we scored a 50 yard field goal and went punt, punt, and GB went TD, TAD until we scored towards the end of the half. my other point in another response was that I disagreed with sitting starters for last game of the season. that made it 3 weeks before real games and the team was cold. out of sync. defense couldn't make stop and gave up critical 3rd down after 3rd down and couldn't get off the field. this was a team we beat on their home field. we struggled with them on our field. and Rodgers playoff experience was in full display.

Not as simple as just changing coaching staffs; FO team-building moves have to be factored in.

For instance, in his 2nd season, Pederson was able to replace starting QB Carson Wentz with experienced Nick Foles and the team never missed a beat. If DP coached the Cowboys, he’d have either Cooper Rush or Mike White for a backup if Dak went down, which is a BIG difference.

I think Campo could have gone 8-8 with the team that Garrett inherited.
I think Garett did go 8-8 with the team he inherited, and Campo never won more than 5 games a year..The facts dont support your statement!

DAK didnt go down, Hiz offensive line did because Stephen did not move to replace Leary properly..He could have drafted a guard in 2017 draft..In fact Chaz Green was the mistake made by Stephen that started the oline stupidity..So Stop the Garret bashing on that point..Just like most things Cowboys, garret takes all the crap, and half the time its personnel decisions that he didnt make..

Very good..I agree with this..This was the mistake made by the front office going with the hot hand..Very few fans realize that the front office cost us an opportunity to compete for a sb in 2016. Romo was supposed to help bring Dak along..Im not saying that im not happy with Dak, im saying that decision was the wrong one at the time..

I dont see any of those people who supported that decision stepping up to admit it either.

I believe Doug did a decent job with a GM that at least knows football. I DONT believe he would do a better job than Garret in this dynamic.. The hypothetical just doesnt pass the arkie inbred test!

5 games with Quincy Carter and all those other scrub QB's. Romo is worth 3 wins by himself. Garrett would have gone 2-14 with those teams.

of course but its not 5-11:rolleyes:
Nope it's mediocrity central. How come Campo wasn't given a chance to have a franchise QB, a HOF TE, a HOF DE, a great WR? I could go on and on. He had scrubs and players well past their prime. As Emmitt said he was a diamond surrounded by trash and he was right. The fact that he wasn't near as great as he thought he was at that time should tell you how bad those teams were. Give Campo an offensive line with a great RB and I bet you he'd win more than 5 games. And BTW I hated Campo as coach.
